I would say this is more proof that LA turns people into assholes, but Brian Wilson was already an asshole and seemingly revels in that fact.

Tim Lincecum got older, filled out a little, and no longer has quite the flexibility he needs for his delivery to work.

What's Brian Wilson's problem? Kind of unbelievable to think the Giants would really make it tough for him to get his WS ring.

skinink: What's Brian Wilson's problem? Kind of unbelievable to think the Giants would really make it tough for him to get his WS ring.

And yet, here we are 7 months later and he still didn't have it. It seems like a series of mis-communications that each side took the wrong way; SF thinking Wilson snubbing him, Wilson thinking SF withholding his ring.

It also sounds like Wilson's point was "Give me my ring, I won't be taking pictures with you farkers" and SF kept inviting him to PR events he didn't want to attend.

SF fans being rude assholes to someone who helped win them 2 rings?  Color me shocked.

Worst fans in sports.  Pure, bitter a-holes.

WHINE MOAR!

The A's don't belong in San Jose at any rate, so blame Jerry Brown, blame Lew Wolff, and Blame Walter Haas. Or just stop pretending to be victims and actually show up to the park to see your team play.

This is how you know when you've found a bandwagon Giants fan, who has been with the team through thick and thin, since October 2010. It's so adorable when Giants fans like to pretend that the Candlestick years never happened, and they've always had great attendance, and that the SF Chronicle WASN'T writing articles in September '97 asking why no fans were showing up in the midst of a huge pennant race. It's almost as if Giants fans are delusional and/or stupid. Wait, strike that "almost." They are delusional and stupid, and Larry Baer and the entire Giants organization can get farked and die.

Not even a carriage return. Impressive.

I remember watching Brian Wilson riding in his cable car down Market Street in last year's victory parade and noticing that he did not look to be in a particularly celebratory mood. Maybe coincidentally, he was also wearing an almost-Dodger-blue sweatshirt that day. I think it's pretty clear that whatever happened between Wilson and the Giants started around the time of his second Tommy John surgery.

Not the wrong side of the bed, it's just that not a day goes by when I don't read one A's fan or another blaming the Giants for their situation. I too like to think that I'm reasonable, but the whinging has gotten rather tiresome. Plus, it's not as if San Jose is some magic cure. Hell, a significant portion of the A's fans I know are going to abandon them if they move to the South Bay. They should have fought harder for a stadium in the Jack London area, or build a new one near the coliseum. That being said, I think the Giants should drop their opposition (in exchange for reasonable consideration, of course).

Why Would I Read the Article: jackiepaper: Or just stop pretending to be victims and actually show up to the park to see your team play.

Had I lived in the Bay prior to 2000, I too would have be excoriating Giants fans for not showing up. As it stands, I have but the last 13 years of experience to draw from. The Coliseum may be a shiatty park, but at least its very easy to get to via both freeways and public transit, doesnt require walking through the worst neighborhood in the city, and doesn't drop below 55 degrees on most summer nights.

/I've experienced great, good, mediocre, and awful seasons by the Giants at AT&T Park, going to about 20 games a year each and every year since I moved here, so take your "bandwagon" accusations elsewhere.

Whoa, hang on there! I find it hard to believe that no one has noted that Brian Wilson played about 2 games in 2012 and was relegated to "team cheerleader". I was just as excited about the SF Giants run as any other baseball fan, but Wilson should consider himself lucky to get to join the celebration party, much less a ring.

The A's granted the Giants territorial rights to Santa Clara county for free in order to, and according to who you listen to conditioned upon the Giants' ability to, secure a stadium in Santa Clara county when they were about to run off to Florida.  The proposed stadium simply would not have been possible without the A's doing that.

Obviously that never happened, and the Giants got their little amusement park in SF.  Of course the Giants are a huge part of the problem, and the Giants ownership have been complete cocks about the situation for years now.

My hope is that whoever replaces Selig tells the Giants to go stuff it.

Eh, he's likely mad because the A's are in and the Giants are out. I know a lot of Giants fans like that at the moment. They can all take solace in the fact that I won't be nearly as much of a giant cockmongler as they have been in recent years if the A's win the Series this year.
