Stretched faces?  Welp, this is clearly now a Benedict Cumberbatch thread.  Have at it, ladies.  You weird, frighteningly odd ladies.

After his most recent face-stretching, Malcolm McDowell Alex Delarge explains that Borat isn't right for the role of Freddie Mercury, Harry Potter admits that he isn't either.

HL fixed.

Reminds me of  Les miserables where Maximus was tormenting Wolverine, while he tried to protect Catwoman and deal with Borat.

I think Danny DeVito would be perfect for the role.

I want to see a movie about Freddie Mercury himself. Early life, forming the band, becoming famous, then watching AIDS destroy the people around him (Who wants to live forever?) and finally, his own death (The show must go on).

That is the story. I'm sorry nobody gives a crap about the rest of the band, that that is the reality.

The dude from the Fantasy Island reboot?

Among the grand realm of rock stars you have to look long and hard to find anyone less interesting than any member of Queen.  Making good choices in life, getting a proper education, doesn't make much of a story.

Even with his early death Hank Williams was more interesting than Queen.  GG Allin?  Andrew Wood?  Layne Staley?  Cliff Burton?  Sid Vicious?

The list is nearly endless.

Why the fark they seem hung up on Mercury is a mystery to me.

I'm telling you, Dominic Cooper would be perfect.

Silly subby, it was F. Murray Abraham who used the face-stretcher:
images1.wikia.nocookie.net

/also, a PG-rated Mercury biopic would be about 10 minutes long

Sacha Baron Cohen would have been great in that role.

/ Never paid attention to Queen, but it could be a great period piece

Sounds like the band has an idea to do a soft focus rose coloured piece of fluff.  And no-one is even a little interested in backing that.  Leave it alone until they are all dead, and do the real story.

Freddy Mercury's story just isn't that interesting.  His conflict is being a supremely talented onstage presence who was really just very introverted, private, and gay until a tragic death from AIDs.  And that story becomes less and less interesting as public acceptance of homosexuals and AIDs awareness continue to increase.  Tom Hanks beat you to it by 20 years.

But mostly, f*ck him and that stupid Bicycle Race song.

I don't get the band's preference for a sanitized PG-13 version of Freddie's life. It's not like anybody who is a fan of Queen will be so offended that they'll stop buying albums if they produce a "warts-and-all" movie with a R rating. If the film is done right they might even gain fans if non-fans watch the movie see what a compelling performer Freddie was.

I was put on ignore for saying Mercury was supremely talented but ultimately not that interesting or that Bicycle Race is easily a top pick for songs with a combination of being popular and also being embarrassingly terrible?  I'm actually guessing neither.  Hugz.

And best of luck to any of you who think you will ever hear We Will Rock You on the radio without it being immediately followed by We Are the Champions.  It just doesn't happen.

/also applies to a better and more interesting group with the songs Heartbreaker and Living Loving Maid

This.  There is no way any fan of Rockin' Roll doesn't know that Freddie Mercury led a hard-core, R-rated existence for much of his time with Queen.

Trying to pretend otherwise won't fool anyone.

They are both the same guy. It was a movie called The Devil's Double about an Iraqi soldier chosen to be Uday Hussain's body double.

As well, I don't think a lot of 14-15 year olds are all that interested in Freddie.

I'm completely shocked that a group that has been basically treading water since the greatest performer of all time died are amazingly out of touch with reality.

Ack why do they do that shiate? I'll throw in "Eruption/You Really Got Me" and "The Happiest Days of Our Lives/Another Brick in the Wall Pt2" as well as songs that always get played back to back on the kinds of stations that play that shaite. Irritates the hell out of me. IT'S NOT TWOFER TUESDAY, DAMMIT!
