The Office, The Hobbit, and Sherlock:  Martin Freeman seems to be everywhere these past few years.

And all for a little bit of money...

But really, if he's everywhere then why did they start off with a show he did a decade ago?

As someone who just watched the UK version of The Office earlier in the evening and now watching Sherlock, I'm getting a kick...

Check out the bulletin board on his IMDB page, someone predicted that he'd make a good Bilbo Baggins way back in 2006. Considering he was relatively unknown at the time, that was epic.

He's going to make a really weird Marge.

FTA:The Coen Brothers are executive producing the series with  Noah Hawley writing. Production begins next month in Canada aimed at a Spring 2014 premiere.

Hhmmmmmm.... well the Coen Brothers are involved, so this could be farking awesome. TV has been better than film lately. I like to see more top notch talent making good mini-series. Also, not sure if capitalizing the b in Coen Brothers is grammatically correct, but i'll do it anyway. They deserve it

Do you mean in the picture with the article?

Because yes.  I LOL'd when I saw they used a picture from Wild Target.

KradDrol: FINISH SHERLOCK.

It is finished, the last episode wrapped on 1st September.

Here's the Season 3 teaser

And there's several seconds of the show in this trailer (although there's some scenes you wouldn't recognise as being Sherlock unless you followed setlock)

If you fly Air Sherlock, make sure you go First Class. Every flight attendant is named Irene, there's all you can inject cocaine in a suitable solution, and the in-flight movies all star Jeremy Brett.

So, are they going to film this in Vancouver?  Can't wait to see the snow capped mountains of Minnesota in this.

The way things are going in Hollywood, that long rumoured HIGHLANDER remake will star Martin Freeman
and Benedict Cumerbatch as Connor McCleod and the Kurgan interchangably.

Cable shows are actually getting pretty good at using their actual locations. Breaking Bad shoots in ABQ, The Bridge in El Paso, Low Winter Sun in Detroit. With so many states wanting to get into the TV and film production business, you are seeing less of Vancouver posing as another location on cable (hell, even cheapish cable shows like Continuum that shoot there actually set the show in Vancouver).

JasonOfOrillia: Just watched him the The World's End tonight.  I like this guy, he could do this role.

Aside from his general unremarkable everymanness, I find Freeman has a startlingly limited range of facial expressions. The baffled double-take in particular has been recycled in World's End, Sherlock and The Office..

He's likable enough...but I have to wonder about his range.

There have been a lot of shows and movies filmed in Manitoba, especially around Winnipeg, which looks like Western MN.

You know, looking back you might be right.  That being said, his everyman-ness will work well for him if he takes on the role described in the article.  It is right up his alley.

He has no range. It's the same facial expressions and dramatic pauses for everything he's ever done.

He's a personable enough chap but a bit bland. I wonder if he'll just be himself again for Fargo, which would be a fark-up, in my book. No-one even knows if he's capable of doing an American accent - though he does have that blocked nose nasal twang that could help him.
