Salem Witch: We have been helping our friends with their place. We realized last weekend what was wrong with the front steps. Whoever built the thing got the tread and riser dimensions correct but then installed it wrong.imageshack.usMost of the electrical is done. Suzy was a big hep. The ceiling was a ridiculous rats nest of wire and junction boxes that went nowhere.

Whoever built the thing got the tread and riser dimensions correct but then installed it wrong.Upside down?Looked like it to me, rise where the tread should be and vise versa, the treads should be 2 x 2"x6" and they like like 2 x 2"x4" to me from that pic. Too short treads and too tall a rise... upside down stringers. And note sure of local code, but around here, handrails on both sides too... safety first and all that!

lilyspad: sherpa18: What a good boy...helping Dad! Did you give him a treat??
and then proceeded to absolutely decimate that poor piece of bread
and then decided that it was edible....
Meanwhile, I seem to recall that late last week I promised to post pics of the white boy's new weird food obsession. While my back was still hurting, I went to make myself a grilled cheese sammich (hey, comfort food!) and dropped a piece of bread on the floor. Not wanting to bend, I jokingly asked Dragon if he could pick that up for me. When I turned around, this is what I saw:

No new pictures this week, we got almost 6 inches of rain last night and a light show with sound. Cassie and Tom stayed in the living room last night but Fiona wouldn't leave my side. I think Li-Ion was bothered by the storm as he was extra jumpy and let me cuddle him. Some time in the night Fiona jumped onto my bed, either Max or Li-Ion freaked out and ran across my face leaving a bloody trail. I had to get up and clean my wounds, throw the dog off of the bed, and settle the kitties before I could go back to sleep. Had to kick the dog off my bed twice more before morning but the cats had gotten over their fear by then so no more scratches. Everything is soaked outside, the little chickens and Frodo had wet feet this morning, the horses stall took on lots of water and the garage floor, including my tack room, was wet. More rain for tonight and then I hope for a few dry days to get the stall dry enough to clean.

ginandbacon: cynicalminion: Real Women Drink Akvavit: cynicalminion: Real Women Drink Akvavit: spray tandon't make me go digging up the link... so if the silver fox anderson cooper goes in for a spray tan, does he default to a bronze fox? or would he have to dye his hair first?Anderson Cooper is in his very own category. Comes with the fabulousness and having Gloria Vanderbilt as your mom, which is another form of fabulous itself. He can do as he pleases and papparazzi pics of him might go up about 10 bucks for the day. Not only that, he was a cat in a previous life. So that knocks the awesome fabulous hell yeahs out of the ball park.Pictorial evidence![llwproductions.files.wordpress.com image 401x271]cynicalminion: actually i think someone mentioned australia is the only continent with no active volcano. so the mountains are the ONLY thing NOT actively trying to kill you in australia... and you call that a knife? That is probably the most sensible and concise statement about Australia I've ever seen in my life.ok, can't take credit for it, there is that map out there of everything trying to kill you in australia (and surrounding waters)but yeah...how was it phrased?the ten years ago thing? get ginandbacon in here to defend ac from objectification... :)AHHHHHHHHHHHHH how can I even concentrate on AC with these crazy wonderful critters everywhere???????????? And as far as I'm concerned, Cooper is worthy of objectification. That is one fine looking animal. And his background just adds to the allure. The glam childhood, the death of his brother, the empathy and astonishing fearlessness and intellectual curiosity he displays every single time he reports on anything...I love him so. If he had any interest at all in women, I would be chasing him down the street objectifying the crap out of him.Happy Sunday y'all :)

John Buck 41: I have you favorited (in bright cyan) as 'boob threads'. Don't recall seeing you here before. Welcome!
akimbotoo: She looks exactly like a kitty a veterinarian friend of mine had years ago. Rudy must have been the runt of the litter and was incredibly cuddly and smart. Unfortunately a previous owner had him declawed. She also told me a t.m.i. story about how Rudy adored her husband and loved to sleep under the covers between his legs and would "fluff the pillows". :-O

Am visiting a friend atm and last night she told me that one of the apts in her bldg had been empty for a cpl of weeks and was starting to smell and when investigated, two cats were found dead, one had died early on, the other much later. The second kitty did NOT eat the first kitty. They must have been really good friends or possibly littermates. I has a sad :(So these assholes just moved out and left their cats behind?Jesus Christ, people farking SUCK.

catmandu: Sickapie: Soooo, I applied for a job about 2 weeks ago. A full time job, which is not really what I wanted, but any part time job that I saw wanted me to work nights and/or weekends, and since that was out, full time it was! I got an email from a lady at the company a few days ago asking me to do a phone interview this past Wednesday, which I did and she said she'd send out another email out to the applicants today letting them know whether they qualified to come back for a person to person interview next week or not. I didn't get a good feeling after the phone interview. I felt I had a few brain farts, the lady on the other end wasn't that friendly, didn't get good vibes, etc. So, I got the dreaded email today in short, "Thanks but no thanks". Didn't even put my name on it. Just one of those canned things from Customer Service. Bah. Now I have a headache.[dl.dropboxusercontent.com image 500x362]/stoopy job//stoopier lady///thbbbbbbI've gotten way too many of those. I feel for you! My last one was a face to face last Friday and I could tell that the guy wanted to get me out of there ASAP, he didn't even ask the usual questions going through my resume, just the canned ones his company required. I was told to look for an email from the home office "sometime next week" if we were going to continue. The email was in my inbox before I even got home.
