So....far....behind! Gah! *waves!* Hi everybody! I'll try and catch up between tonight and tomorrow mornin'. We're still tearing apart the house and re-doing everything. Well, not really everything, but we have had the house torn apart and completely disorganized for a while now. It just makes everything harder to deal with and really cuts into my internet time, which I do not approve of at all.

Oh, before I furget, does anyone have a link to Haruko's Etsy store? Does she still have that going? I wanted to look at STUFF. When I want to look at STUFF, I try to look at STUFF people I know at least in passing are cranking out as product. Besides, I really like that one pic I got from her. It hangs all cute and creepy on my wall right above where I'm sitting right now. (Heh. my autocorrect tried to turning "sitting" into "stilling", like I've got a booze factory under my desk or sumfing. pffft. I WISH.)

Anyway, I'll try to catch up wit yous guize laters. Until then, have some ferrets!

My wife had her car inspected on Thursday. It's five years old and has only 14k miles on it so I didn't think a full brake inspection beforehand would be needed. It ended up failing on the left front pads and rotor. I put new rotors and pads on it last night for half what the dealer wanted and probably got it done with better parts and half the time. The inner pad/rotor had the strangest wear pattern I'd ever seen. It's as if a the inner 3/4 inch section of the pad was much harder than the rest. Other than the odd wear the brake pad looked pretty normal...no bends or cracks??? The guide pins and calipers checked out fine so I can only assume the brake pad material was defective.

Other than that I've just been getting lots of stuff done around here and getting ready for the cold. It's turning out to be a chore chocked weekend.

love red squirrels.  none around here... :(  yesterday morning however had a bizarro-moment, leaving the apt. saw a squirrel bolting across the parking lot, which isn't that odd, until i realized it was being chased by this tiny little chipmunk... i'm thinking there might be a turf-war in progress...

sno man: Back, no moose today.
No paddle either, too windy. Still smell like campfire, so all in, a good day!!

Did come across some very much smaller critters though...
this little guy will become a Milkweed Tussock Moth (next year).
he's just about an inch and a half long.

and this not so little lady closer to 2 inches leg tip to leg tip...
Philodromus praelustris (yes, had to look that up) a Crab Spider.  She's not a web spinner, and has taken to hunting on my not altogether finished shed at the lake.

the shed in question...

8'w x 12'd.   The siding and steel roof for it were delivered today.  More pics when finished.

and a newish one of the lake in question...

This was earlier in the week and earlyish in the day, (and taken with my phone(!))

Thanks, that place, from the first time we saw it, is special, the heart beats a little slower, the blood pressure drops, the knot in the shoulder loosens.. especially when the water is like that...

Wow. We bought a new car in mid-February and it already has 8500 miles on it. Mrs. Buck drives it 40+ miles a day at least 5 days a week.

Indeed. There are few things more calming than a small lake/pond without a ripple on it.
