Update from last week: The dermatologist's office called me Thursday afternoon - it rolled to voice mail 'cause I was drowning in paper at the time and ignoring all phones.  I tried to call back Friday but got someone with an IQ lower than her shoe size.  Anyway, it's not a good sign.  The nurse told me that if the biopsy was benign they would not call me - just send a note in the mail.  So dang!

If nothing is truly obscure on Fark, someone will get the reference below.

danceswithcrows: akimbotoo: She is beautiful! Is she a Burmese?

It's possible, since Burmese cats meow a lot according to PickyWeedia, and she has the right body type, the right color pattern, and the right behavior pattern. Some asshole abandoned her in 2005 and I took her in, so I don't have any concrete info on her breed.

Timid Goddess: I always thought the first half (Moi-) rhymed with Joy?

Yes. But having an oi- with an R immediately following seems to be difficult for many people. The front-desk person at the vet didn't even try pronouncing it. My father calls her "Mora". My friend Dan called her "Mrrml" when he was sleeping on my couch for 6 days.

[crow202.org image 278x535]

I really do think so. She looks exactly like a kitty a veterinarian friend of mine had years ago. Rudy must have been the runt of the litter and was incredibly cuddly and smart. Unfortunately a previous owner had him declawed. She also told me a t.m.i. story about how Rudy adored her husband and loved to sleep under the covers between his legs and would "fluff the pillows". :-O

How's Buddy the Wonderdog doing?

Hey, he's doing a little better this week, thanks.  Eating and pooping almost regularly.  Seems much more comfortable now since the backed-up pipes got cleared.  He hates pooping in the rain though, so he's been holding it all day today!  I keep waiting for the monsoon to taper off but it just doesn't.  Maybe I'll take him down to the underground parking and see if he'd maybe prefer to go there (it's worked before!).

Otherwise he's sleeping a lot but seems OK for now.  He really had us scared there last week.

Tinyteddy and a warm duvet makes for awesum naps.

Also had an upclose and puuursonal visit with Bobbit the barn cat. Ye gads he climbed right into the car! Food, you haz food? Oh my gorsh he is a cutie! And, oh, that purr! Black kitteh with a splotch of white on his chest, copper eyes and a nub tail...his sister has a full tail..so, no clue what happened there..Hay Mower? My instructer had him and her fixed within a week of hazing them. Good on her!

Too late, lol.  Man it's nasty.  Windy too.  I needn't have had a shower this morning, I could've just stood outside with a bar of soap!  :op

Jesus Farking Christ: Good morning, you wonderful and sexy people.

So adventures in Emma and Emmett.  This week, Emma decides to become an attention whore.  I've never heard her cry and meow as much as I have this week.  I guess she sees an advantage to me around so that I can pet her and feed her.

Emmett is obsessed with me taking showers.  It's not him liking water per se, but more about me getting wet.  He even blocks my way from getting out of the shower.   So this week, I'm going to take my iPhone into the shower and snap pics of the little tike.

You'll take a few photos of the cat too, right?  ;)

It might be he got a Manx gene from one parent while she got two non-Manx genes.  Anya had the gene and a stubby, clubby tail.

Moira's declawed. The apartment complex I lived in from 2000-2007 had a rule that all cats living there had to be declawed, so she had no claws the first time I saw her. This apartment complex was in Lansing, MI, so it was cold ~5 months/year. When I lived there, Moira would crawl under the covers and sleep next to me if I left the bedroom door open. I live in Tempe, AZ now, so Moira doesn't care so much about being warm.

Actually, never been one we haven't loved as much as we could! This is Lynx cuddling with Cheeky on Pl's lap, quite Ago. Lynx came to us shortly after too-big Gretl (of whom I still haven't found downloadble pic! She was so glorious, 20 lb seal tortie with cream tip to her tail! Still miss her too--) died of heart attack like Too Many Too Big critters & hoomons do.

Could have been developmental too. We had a couple of kitties come to the shelter where the vet's figured that when they were in utero, an umbilical cord got wrapped around one of their feet and essentially "amputated" it. Could have been something similar.

I've been Farking for ~9 years. I've read almost every Caturday thread since before it had its own tag. Haven't posted to Caturday much, because Moira isn't really that interesting on her own, and the Caturday regulars have many more interesting/useful/funny cat-including stories than I do. It's sort of like they also serve who only post JPEGs to Fark threads containing partially-clothed women, to totally mangle Milton.

that was my second thought... (csb: knew a bro/sis pair of purebred manx, she was a ninja, only way to find her was to open the food, then *bamf* she was in front of the dish, and her brother's nub of a tail wagged like a dog's when he was happy... don't think i have pics anywhere though, sorry...)

/first thought was "so was he called bobbit because of the tail or because he got fixed?"

Back, no moose today.
No paddle either, too windy. Still smell like campfire, so all in, a good day!!

Did come across some very much smaller critters though...
this little guy will become a Milkweed Tussock Moth (next year).

he's just about an inch and a half long.

and this not so little lady closer to 2 inches leg tip to leg tip...

Philodromus praelustris (yes, had to look that up) a Crab Spider.  She's not a web spinner, and has taken to hunting on my not altogether finished shed at the lake.

the shed in question...

Thx...  I used to have a thing about spiders too, I got over it when I found out all the nasty bugs in the garden and otherwise around are what they eat.  So I try to give the spiders a pass.  I finally found some good bat house plans too, so will hope to attract some bats early next year too.  The ones that used to be common around here can eat 1000 mosquitoes an hour (!) and there are A LOT of mosquitoes that need eating up there...

Work today was a PITA!!!!! Not as much rain as I expected, but more of that to come. The wind, however, was really bad! Power at work went out 4 times....usually right in the middle of a transaction. Of course, being the frugal group that they are, my company doesn't have any battery back-up for the registers up front. Lost a couple of transactions, and had to re-do them. After the computers came back online. ARGH!!
