I agree on the warp zoom. Sometimes it triggers that sense of vertigo or jumping to hyperspace in my mind.

No, no, that's just the "additional product motivator" beam feature. See, apple did a survey where they found that most users weren't up to date on the latest and greatest apple products, so they felt it was their duty to make sure everyone was keenly aware. Plus, some people just flat-out didn't have a beam already...

//more importantly, it's probably a natural reaction from the user's conscience..

Maybe its me, but I'm hardly noticing the effect at all.
I know there's an off switch for it but how do you ramp it up to nausea inducing levels?

I'm sure people have experienced this, but I have no idea what this is about.

It's funny that I'm reading this article in the ER because my wife was feeling dizzy and threw up.  She's been complaining about the upgrade ever since it came out. I showed her the article and she wants a new phone.

"Others complain of "vertigo" when apps "zoom" in and out - and say that using iOS 7 devices has left them feeling ill for days."

Oh, bullshiat. This sounds just like the people who moan about the wind turbines in a field a mile away making them sick. Or getting sick when exposed to wireless routers. Attention whores.

Ironically, one of its main "selling points" was its simplified look - the icons on the page are "flatter" and simpler.

It is a selling point that the icons are a bit more minimalistic than in the previous version? The marketing department must really be scraping the bottom of the barrel.

I'm not so sure. Most Farkers still haven't gotten over Macho Grande.

It doesn't make me sick, but my phone looks 10x busier than it did before.

Weren't the glossy bubble-buttons a selling point before?

How exactly, are these people using their phones? Who stares at the home screen? Zooms in, done. It doesn't keep zooming. I suspect something else, perchance stupidity, is at play here.

If I start jumping around a bunch of apps (start up a new song, check on a chat message, go back to browsing the web, etc.) it can sometimes happen to me. I think it's related to how the zoom looks when I'm focused on the center of the screen. My brain processes that blur as me falling momentarily, I suppose. It's not often but it happens enough.

You can turn of the faux parallax, but not the zoom. I farking hate the zoom. IOS7 has some badly needed updates, but the special effects in the UI really need to go. And give me a darker theme, God damn it! That black on white shiat hurts the eyes.

Most of the retards that think things are making them sick when they really aren't (i.e. being within a square mile of a nuclear reactor) use Apple products, so this doesn't shock me

I have no idea. I do know it looks like a child's toy now. Same thing with Android 4.1, the icons look like they need to be interesting for little children.

I'm getting a really annoying "connect to itunes to use push notifications" error message on many apps.

only solution seems  to be restoring the phone from a backup.

I won't get over it.

It looks almost exactly the f*cking same as it did before. Just more white instead of brushed metal. I installed it and didn't really give a shiat one way or another. The changes are so miniscule that the hysterical comments in that article make me fear for people's sanity.

So turn it off.  I swear that iphone addicts are some of the whiniest, most delicate people out there.

If you can't turn it off, may I suggest getting a phone that actually puts you in control of the device, instead of the other way around?

You're looking at it wrong.

it took deactivating and reactivating the phone for it to cease for me.

Based on the quote from the 'design guru,' I'd say they've gone through the bottom of the barrel and have tunneled half way to China, which hopefully will prove fruitful in reducing the costs of moving the phones form the manufacturing location to the US in the future.

I can't watch TV shows or movies that use the ShakeyCam, because it gives me vertigo. But I haven't noticed any problems with iOS7. If I hadn't read about this, I wouldn't even know they had added it to the software. It's barely noticeable.

Parallax effect can be turned off.  I didn't like it for battery life reasons, took a whole 2 minutes of google to find out how.

The first thing my mother in law said about the update was "It's too white." I figured she was just looking for something to complain about.

sure haven't: I'm getting one for my wife for Christmas, she cannot read in the car, makes her ill. I hope this doesn't affect her like that  :/

My wife has severe motion sickness. She has to wear patches when she flies. She can't read in the car. Even watching my kid play Portal 2 and other first person games makes her dizzy ... she has an iPhone 5 with iOS 7 since the night the update came out, and she hasn't mentioned any problems to me about it.

at this point its only mildly annoying,

and I'm sure apple is hard at work finding a fix for the problem!

Huh. That's the same reason I haven't bought an Apple product since 1990.

Somehow there are 3645 comments even though the only possible response to this are: "Yes, this bothers me." or "No, this does not bother me." This makes me sad.
