Police say at about 5:40 p.m. Wednesday, the suspect, Matthew Webster, 30, of Swanton, ran a red light and nearly hit another car. They say the woman driving that car followed him

Well that seems to have worked out well for her.

If the guy had just hidden in an alley or some bushes for a few minutes, his stars would've gone away and he'd be a free man.

That town is getting a new wall mart next week, too.
This is one week after they swept it for drug dealers.

Their new walmart was filled with drug dealers?  Can't they afford security?

"We believe this was a case of road rage that went awry and turned violent,"

As opposed to the typically friendly and well-controlled road rage?

I will not be outraged until I know what the woman looked like.

I hate to sound like I'm blaming the victim, but if someone hits your car and then peels off, there's a good chance they were doing something that Law Enforcement would not take too kindly to. Get the plate number, and call 911.

This is a sad story. Also there is this gem.

The woman decided it was best to follow an asshole and confront him vs. chalk it up to just another asshole on the road who almost killed you.

This is the exact reason i try not to get angry anymore. I just thank my lucky starts I'm alive and can make it home in one piece. You just never know if the person you flip off / follow / confront is packing and/or crazy

They weren't. Though I'm surprised that this rose to the level of involving the World Court.

That is why I follow and wait till they are out of the vehicle then flatten all of their tires. That way at least the driver is off of the road for a while.

I know it's not what the folks in the car were feeling, because I am sure it wasn't as entertaining to actually be there, but I burst out laughing a few times while watching that. The dude was stuck in a loop of profanities... his brain couldn't process that the guy in the car wasn't going to play his game.

Yeah I agree, never get out of the car. Call the cops or drive away.

St. Albans used to be cool when I was a kid in the '80s. Too bad it's getting all cracked/methed out now. You'd think with all the toys the DHS* has been given in that area to prosecute the War on Liberty Drugs that the drug problem would be less up there.

"It's coming to our doorstep now. You hear about it in other parts of the country and the state, but now it's happening right here. It's pretty crazy. It's got to stop," Elwood said.

Yes, a single incident of road rage that turned violent. You're practically living in the south side of Chicago now. It's probably only a matter of time before you're all gunned down. Better get the local police force a bunch of tactical gear. And a tank. Every police force needs at least one tank, or at the very least an APC. Of course, once they have all of those fun new toys, they're going to be just itching to use them, so don't come crying when they kick your door down, shoot your dog, and tase grandma because you had an unpaid parking ticket. Or your neighbor did, and they got the wrong house. That's the price we pay for safety and security.

So he fights with the wife and then guns down a random woman who he almost hit and the whole incident is witnessed by his wife.  I have a sneaking suspicion she's going to waive the spousal exemption from testifying.  It'll save her the cost of a divorce.  Can you say life without parole?

I live in Franklin county.
We had a huge drug sweep last week.
The cops got lost in front of my house.
Really, they didn't have a copy of the gazetteer and were using GPS type maps.

I had a recent incident, where a car blew through a red-light and I still don't know how we managed not to hit.  I let it go, and went home no worse for wear.  Later on the news, possibly the same car was on the news a few blocks from the intersection I saw them at, getting busted for drugs.  Maybe my close call slowed them down enough to get caught; if that be case, I did my part.
