Green Eggs and Ham was about persistence. Ted Cruz persists in being crazy, lesson learned.

Is his plan to move the GOP so far to the right that the dragons out in "Thar Be Dragons" territory have to put up a "Thar Be Teabaggers" sign to warn them about the dangers in that unexplored area? Talk about a Xanatos Gambit.

Now, the Star-Belly GOP Sneetches 'Mericans
Had bellies with stars.
The Plain-Belly Liberal Sneetches 'Mericans
Had none upon thars.

Those stars weren't so big. They were really so small
You might think such a thing wouldn't matter at all.

But, because they had stars, all the Star-Belly GOP Sneetches 'Mericans
Would brag, "We're the best kind of Sneetch 'Merican on the Beaches.
"With their snoots in the air, they would sniff and they'd snort"
We'll have nothing to do with the Plain-Belly Liberal sort!"
And whenever they met some, when they were out walking,
They'd hike right on past them without even talking.

When the Star-Belly GOP children went out to play ball,
Could a Plain Belly Liberal get in the game... ? Not at all.
You only could play if your bellies had stars.
And the Plain Belly Liberal children had none upon thars.

When the Star-Belly GOP Sneetches 'Mericans had frankfurter roasts
Or picnics or parties or marshmallow toasts,
They never invited the Plain-Belly Liberal Sneetches 'Mericans.
They left them out cold, in the dark of the beaches.
They kept them away. Never let them come near.
And that's how they treated them year after year

"Green Eggs and Ham" is a tragic tale of a man who holds staunchly to beliefs based on his gut feelings rather than experience or research, boldly rebuking any effort from his opposition to offer compromises to get him to try things differently. Sadly, his opposition's incessant media blitz eventually forces him to abandon his principles and drink the green kool-aid, forcing him to become a Satanic pork-eater like the liberal rank-and-file.

Oh, he did. He compared people who didn't stand up to Obamacare to Neville Chamberlain. Because that is the only farking historical analogy conservatives know.

(Oh, and he apparently thinks Chamberlain was appeasing Hitler in the 1940s, even though Britain declared war on Germany in 1939.)

lol I love that the take away from all Cruz's fake filibustering was that he apparently doesn't understand a Dr.Seuss story.

He made himself look dumb, and set up the Ds nicely.

If the Dems had come out using "green eggs & ham" as a metaphor for the GOP's refusal to give the ACA a chance before Cruz's BS they would have been smacked down for being condescending. Now they actually have an apparent need to explain the story to them. The GOP can't cry about being talked down to because Cruz set it up.

You lost on Obamacare fellas, settle in.

Hey think of it this way, at least you still managed to keep single payer down...so far.

Since most GOP outrage over Obamacare is based on a misunderstanding of what it is, it seems perfectly fitting that Senator Cruz's use of literature to attack it should be based on a misunderstanding of the literature.

The only question I have is whether Cruz's misunderstanding is as willful as the GOP misunderstanding of Obamacare.

virtually all GOP policy is based on ignorance - or, more accurately, the knowledge that the widespread ignorance of its base will allow it to continue to enrich the 1 percent.

Wait, was legion_of_doo claiming that "both sides try to demonize and marginalize the other side" was the actual moral of the story? I thought that was just his/her own editorial comment. Good lord. "Both sides are bad" is decidedly not the moral of the story. Jesus, wtf?

Well, green is the symbol of the environmental movement, and the attempts by Sam-I-Am to force the narrator to consume the green eggs and ham is a symbol of big government trying to force job-killing "green energy" policies down our throats. The fact that the narrator is induced to abandon his principles and core beliefs and even believes in the end that he likes the "green eggs" at the end is a testament to the scary power of public education and other Big Brother government propaganda to shape the very thoughts and feelings of innocent Americans. Notice that Sam-I-Am is the green egg pusher in the story, and will.i.am is a notable producer of pro-Obama propaganda. Coincidence?
