Eagles offense is rolling up yards, but so is the defense. Chip WILL be a winner in the No Fun League... Once he gets his players in... Superbowl.

An eagle, while gliding quite low
saw a deer ambling through the snow.
He swooped down with his claws,
like a crook breaking laws...
eager to snatch up the doe.

Just ask a scientician.  He'll tell you that in nature one creature invariably eats another to survive.

The Kazakhs call the Golden Eagle Berkut, and use it to hunt wolves.

That one will take a deer should surprise none.

I find it amusing that the article assures the public that the Eagles don't have a big impact on the deer population.

Snerk.

That's one cool photo and one big eagle.  We have lots of Red Tail Hawks, a few Bald Eagles around here, I've seen Osprey, and there is supposed to be a Golden Eagle in our area, but I've yet to have a confirmed sighting myself.

Maybe they could start taking bear cubs around here, better than the hunters shooting 'em.

If you were to actually see the golden eagle, you would be astonished.  Those things are enormous!
For what it's worth though, you likely won't see that thing hunting in the same places as all the other birds you mentioned.  Bald eagles eat fish.  The other ones eat smaller mammals.  Golden eagles tend to look for more sizable animals.  (Keep you cats locked up.)

Eagles are an apex predatory like bears, wolves and mountain lions, we only fear them less because they are comparative smaller that the others, but a big eagle ain;t nothin' for even a human to fark with. There is documented evidence that in pre-historic but post human times  There were absolutely GIANT birds of prey in the Americas with wing spans of 12 feet or more.  I think it is no conincidence that the oldest people in North America worshipped the "thunderbird" and man of the oldest peoples of NA constructed elborate look out towers high in trees near their settlements

Aiolornis incredibilis.  This as far as I know was the biggest and it died off like many other animals at the end of the Pleistocene.  Good chance people would have seen it or others like it.   However it has nothing on the Giant Cuabn owls.  Sure there were bigger birds, but how many are a 1+ meter tall flightless owl?

Early humans were eaten by birds.  The Taung child is a skull likely resulting from a kill.  The skull is pecked and scratched just like a bird would handle it.  The eyes got eaten and PCP was not involved.

Yeah.  Not a Phillys fan, mind you, but there are six teams in the NFL with an 0-3 record.  Unfortunately, the 49ers aren't one of them.

The Eagles may be relatively crap so far, but they're not at the bottom.
