Why the f*ck does it have to be "news" every time a parent is outraged by a school enforcing its dress code?

2013-09-24 02:54:16 PM
I would have gone home to change my shirt and taken my sweet time getting back.

2013-09-24 02:55:28 PM
If the intent is to make our students dumber, then there's a high probability that it's working.

2013-09-24 02:56:06 PM
"I'm not going to look stupid in front of all these young ladies in the school," the student told WWBT. "So I decided to get a different T-shirt."

So why were you wearing a Duck Dynasty t-shirt in the first place?

Lucky LaRue: Why the f*ck does it have to be "news" every time a parent is outraged by a school enforcing its dress code?

Because more often than not a school's hissy fit over a dress code violation causes more of a disturbance than the clothes would have on their own. Your job is to teach ids, not dress them.

2013-09-24 02:57:59 PM
dumbass, you don't actually go back to school when they send you home in the middle of the day. rookie.

2013-09-24 02:58:35 PM
"For this to be considered a threat to the school, I couldn't understand it," Hunter's mom, Edna-Jo Spain, told WWBT, adding her son's grandmother gave him the controversial T-shirt as a gift.

Well that makes it ok then. If granny has no problem with violent messages, no one else should.

2013-09-24 02:58:51 PM
schools have had hissy fits over t shirts since iron-ons came out in the 60's. it's tradition, dammit.

I don't get the hubbub about this show. I much prefer Duck Knots Landing, or even Duck As The World Turns.

2013-09-24 02:59:55 PM
I don't watch Duck Dynasty, but I heard its a christian show about hillbillies that dress in all Camo.

Just how the FARK does this mean violence? Do they throw a broken coffee machine in the trash?

/jeez and back then you had loony toon characters shooting at each other with guns, wtf is wrong with people

There needs to be a school administers version of the Hippocratic Oath for administrators. They should first abstain from actions that do more harm than good.

Are the "Big Johnson" shirts still a thing? That used to be the "rebel" thing to wear when I was in high school. I feel like that might result in a tacticle swat team response these days.

Did the kid have the matching Duck Dynasty lunch pail, drink cup, change purse, floor mat, pencils, yada, yada, yada?

It just sounds like he's either trollin or just dyin to debate someone about religion.  If you do or don't believe, I don't care.  I just like callin out people acting like a douche.

In my day it was the Hawaiian Punch T shirts.  Although, we often did clout each other.  Getting punched once in a while is actually pretty good for you, you quickly learn not to be too rude.

Does it work any better than a 3 Wolf Moon shirt?

I've never watched an episode, but that tshirt is badass.

The only time I ever got in trouble at school for a dress code violation was when the t-shirt I silk screened a pot leaf on -in art class- was deemed offensive by a teacher and I had to turn it inside out.

It was those and the Co-Ed naked shirts.

I was growing that sort of beard my senior year. The next year they added facial hair to the dress code.

Out of curiosity, I just watched a little on YouTube.

Gotta say, while I loath "reality" TV, that Si is something else.

What do they mean by, "But if you haven't watched  Duck Dynasty, you may question if the shirt implies violence."  I haven't watched the show, but that seems like a pretty clear threat of violence.  What am I missing?

I was once denied entry to Six Flags for wearing one of those. I guess instead of changing, I should have called the ACLU?

I am not a huge fan of zero tolerance, but it typically applies to things that are being misinterpreted.

"I will hurt you physically" is not really being misinterpreted when someone claims it is an implied threat of violence.

Ah yes.  I had a Speedball silk screening kit from juior high to my mid 20's.  I don't think I ever printed a shirt which wasn't controversial.  I still have a few in my drawer at home (I pride myself on my t-shirt collection).  I can only wear them when there are no kids around.

Did you use green film or photo chemicals?
