Where people live? It looks like a population map.

Thank God for farmgirl sluts, then.

olddeegee: Where people live? It looks like a population map.

Do 92% of people live in 25% of counties?

Yes?

Then this would be a meaningless statistic. But it seems likely population density would play an additional role.

Irving Maimway: Big cities? Did I miss something?

Sort of. Not every big city is affected.

More like some big-city suburbs - take a closer look at the NYC map in particular. Long Island and the I-95 corridor from Westchester up through Connecticut are still having issues.

Lower population counties of California and Arizona are higher than you would have expected, too.

That was a bad map and someone should feel bad.
There's a whole lot of undisclosed or unreleased data missing, making it rather useless.
Who cares about net numbers? Percent/population would be more useful, if we had more complete data.

I now not all of it is, butI wonder how much of that has to do with Latinos' (be it from Catholicism or from machismo) avoidance of condoms? It seems a good portion of the hot spots are NYC, Chicago, Miami, the 3 big cities in TX, Southern CA and AZ.

In both cases, proper wrapping with a good insulator will help.

According to one of the comments in the article about 85% of the population lives in the 25 most populous counties, so, it's pretty close.  You're probably right that population density also plays a role, with more populous places having more of a nightlife/club-scene/hookup culture than rural or mostly suburban areas.

Well, a population map plus an immigration map, maybe.

But yeah, pretty much completely useless as heat maps go, I'm not sure where they're getting "startling".

Remember when Israel told the men of Africa that if they cut off the end of their dicks, that they would be immune from AIDs? Then the AID's epidemic got thousands(or more) of new victims.

Or that time they told people that there is more bacteria on an un-circumsized wiener and to cut it off to get rid of bacteria? They used one line from a science article.

/So when in a raping gang, please use a condom and don't believe crazy crackpot religious nutters who like genital mutilation over actual health and life.
//Female genital mutilation is nasty. It is done to stop any pleasure from sex and results in much pain. A way to stop that whore of a wife from being farked by other men. but anal is still ok. And blowjobs. And booby farking.

Female anti-rape condom. If the Rapist sticks his in you, its gonna bite him. Then you get some lysol(or anti-aids meds) to try and kill off his blood ow in you.

Pure speculation, but there seem to be a lot of colleges in that county, as well as Penn State's medical center. So, maybe it is students?

Why isn't that map normalized for population density?

Yes, I've seen useless maps like this many times before.  You could look at a map of where soda is being consumed, or a map of radio purchases, or a map of foot surgeries, and they'd all look much the same.  It's just a U.S. population density map.

The data is taken from AidsVu and it is normalized for population density.

One thing about diseases is that they spread easier in denser populations.

Because it's an urban area and the Capital of the State.  Harrisburg is a pretty dirty area.
