It's funny because he once shot a guy in the face!

Everything Cheney does is humorless. The guy is a friggin' criminal.

2013-09-24 01:50:45 AM
But Halliburton charged $827 per round for that ammunition!

For a Republican, this guy really sucks with a gun.

Just like that other dysfunction subby refers to, it isn't Cheney who really suffers the most.

I look forward to his death so I can piss on his grave.

"I don't take it personally," Cheney told the crowd at the event's awards banquet. "I'm sure there was some flaw with the manufacturer."

It's a poor musician that blames his instrument.  And hey, I bet Remington is real happy they sponsored Darth Cheney.

When asked for the specific flaw, Cheney prattled off about "union slobs" and the fact that "the gun smelled like poor people when I bought it."

I'll bet he wished the bullets did too after he fired them.

Does this mean a lot of the ammo my gun nut neighbor has been stockpiling is no good? I am guessing he will blame Obama? First he tried to make it so he could not buy the ammo, then he made it so the ammo he was able to get was no good!

Sure, blame the gun. It's always someone else's fault when Cheney's around.

Richard Cheney has giving his hole life to service of america. He would have killed ALL Iroquois if not for already being prwsident. Not allowed by constitution to kill while president. Hell go down in history as John Adams or Hermann Goering of america. Did more than any of you to this county!!!

You tell yourself, in January 2009, that Cheney in a wheelchair, wearing a black hat, can't get any creepier.  But deep in your heart, you know you are wrong.  There is no bottom.

It's a valid complaint if the tool doesn't actually work like it should.

Say I need to drill a hole, and a cold solder connection in my cordless drill finally gives way, and the drill doesn't work.  Doesn't mean I'm a bad workman, just means my drill shiat the bed.

If the safety was off, and a live round was chambered, if he pulled the trigger and it didn't go "BANG!", then it's not his fault.  Could be a problem with either the gun, or the ammunition.

And that jab at Remington ammo by his competitor isn't wholly unwarranted.  I've had some Remington .22 LR batches that weren't all that reliable.  I haven't shot their centerfire stuff for something like 2 decades now.

Don't you see? It's art. It's written in a high-modernism style that is Gertrude Stein-esque. Not for everyone, to be sure, but I can still appreciate the effort it takes.

As a hunter I can say that Cheney appear to be the worst kind of hunter.

When he shot the old man in the face he blamed it on the victim. The FIRST rule of hunting is know your target and be sure. An accident is ALWAYS the fault of the guy holding the gun. ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS.

Now, in this story, he blames the equipment. A real shooter knows his weapon and practices with it before any event.

He sure seems to have a lot of excuses, and he never seems to be at fault. I am sensing a pattern.

And I am glad he's not in my hunt club.

While I fully agree that he was responsible for the "oops shot you in the face, sry lol" incident, I'm going to give him the benefit of the doubt on this one.  Sometimes things do break.

I just assumed he picked the healthiest looking kid at some orphanage somewhere.

You know, he pulls up in his limo and has the suitable donors lined up like whores in a brothel. Naturally the kids are all excited because they think one of them is going home with a rich family. Cheney lowers the limo window and points his walking stick at one of the kids "I'll take that one. Waaah. "

The selected child is led towards the limo. His first clue something is not right is that he is being led towards the trunk, not the back doors.

I get what you are saying, but this was a one-shot-buck contest. Did it break on the drive over?

And which is more likely? That a rich man's high end firearm spontaneously stopped working at a key time or that Dick Cheney is a lying sack of shiat who never takes any responsibility for his many personal failures?

Occam's Razor, man.

I thought we were supposed to buy products made in the USA because they're high quality products made by honest Americans and to stimulate growth or something like that.  Now he's saying a fine US company like Remington manufactures defective products.  Is this like reverse vampire logic day?

I'm not saying it couldn't have been his fault, but what exactly might he have done wrong?  I'm by no means a gun nut but I've shot quite a few, and I've had them malfunction a few times.  I've even had a Glock jam up on me once, I don't THINK I was doing anything wrong and Glocks are supposed to be known for NOT doing that.

Believe me, I have NO love for that hideous man, and he has a noted history of being irresponsible with a gun, just trying to give the benefit of the doubt here.

And if you know that that ammunition has quality control problems, then you would either not use it, or check each round to make sure they're good.  Especially if you're only going to be allowed one shot.
Blaming the gun or the ammunition in that case would be as reasonable as buying a Chinese-made drill at Harbor Freight instead of a DeWalt and then complaining when it doesn't work.

His gun, his ammunition, his responsibility to make sure it's in good working order.

You can't "check each round" without firing it, at which point, you can no longer use it.

Or perhaps you have magic X-ray eyes that can see inside a primer.

Also, I've had guns that were in apparently good working order *BREAK*.  I like to tell the story about the Colt 1911 that went cyclic on me.

And we are all missing an important possibility here:  Cheney could have been joking when he said it was an equipment malfunction.

2013-09-24 09:26:49 AM
Did he join a contest with a gun he never used before? That's odd. And, if t a gun being used for first time, why didn't he clean and check it?
