(USA Today)   For years we have been told that Cooper was the best football player of the Manning boys, but did you know he also was the undisputed master of the Manning face?   (ftw.usatoday.com) divider line 16

I used to think how absurd it was.

Then I remembered: have you SEEN Eli or Peyton do anything except throw the football, except on very rare occasions where they scramble/break away from a tackle?

I don't get all the hubbub over this Eli kid. From the looks of it, he's just there because of his name.

I can't be the only one who read that as master race.

That made me laugh alot.  That has got to be the best manning picture ever.

The Mannings are a cool family. Archie, who still lives in New Orleans, used to frequent a restaurant I worked at, and once the kids were in the league he and all the sons would often hang out at an upscale bar I managed. These guys are exactly as humorous and genuine as they appear on screen. And if you don't harass or interrupt them, they'll gladly discuss football with you.

Sadly, I have yet to see Manningface in person.

Not sure if serious...that said, I went from thinking Eli was mediocre, to thinking he was better than Peyton, and back to thinking he's good, but not great. You can't be great if you're that inconsistent. Giants fans should give him a lifetime pass for what he's already done, but he's no Peyton.

Thing is though, you can't afford Peyton AND a defense like the Giants had in '07.  Eli was just good enough for the job but just bad enough to not cost the team too much.

Cupper: I... couldn't play football... no more. *WEEPING*

Peyton: I is the resurrection and the life, Cupper. You is livin' thru me now.

/about all I could watch of the Gospel of Manning that ESPN was foisting on us last night

I met a girl in a bar in Nashville once who claimed her dad was really good friends with Archie and they played golf together all the time.  She told me Peyton would not stop talking and Eli was a really nice kid.  That actually sounds believable but who knows if she wasn't just making shiat up.

See Joe Flacco.  Is he lighting it up this year?  Nope.  But Ravens are 2-1 with help from defense and special teams.  And Flacco will give you the occasional lucky dagron.

... though he is getting paid like he is a Peyton Manning now so, um,

Sorry, I don't care how good they are, it's still idiotic to give your kids last names as their first names. Cooper and Peyton are both last names, dammit.

Both are better first names than Elisha.

True, I'm just speaking to how Eli stacks up in the "QB pantheon" discussion.
