ultraholland: kid really tore it up on those wood sticks

The kid with the sticks kicks ass LOL he's adorable.

The lead singer has great range and vocal maturity. Hopefully they go far.

I liked the Maiden cover as well.

UseLessHuman: Agreed. Granted this was recorded so he had a bunch of takes, but Tool's drummer is highly regarded and this kid is almost there already. I'd let him play drums in my band

You know who else had a bunch of takes to record his songs? Danny Carey :D

Fark this video was cool. That drummer carried it, and the singer grew on me quickly

blunttrauma: Interesting cover of  You Could Be Mine by Guns n' Roses:

I kind of like the male/female vocal arrangement.

There are a couple of other Iron Maiden covers, and Pantera too.  Cool school, talented kids.

That girl has a ferocious voice.

Well maybe cause the kids didn't do anything other than get coached on how to play and sing a five chord song while a bunch of other highly trained and paid people recorded, produced, edited, filmed and directed them in a state of the art studio.  Did they even buy their own instruments? Probably can't change strings or tune them by themselves.

The kids are far more talented than whoever put the video together. Between the Michael Bay-style editing, the needless moving of the camera, and some of the worst camera angles I've ever seen, I'm willing to bet the video team was also a bunch of 12 year olds.

I thought Jack Black was in that film.

I'm looking forward to hearing that girl sing when her voice fully matures.

I think Haley Joel Osment did extremely well singing this favorite Tool song of mine.

darch: Sorry but this kicks total and complete ass. They've actually taken a REALLY hard tune to play/sing and made it their own. Sure it's a cover, but they've totally taken it to a different place.

If by making it their own you mean producing a nearly identical studio version.

It's cool what kids can do with hard work and dedication.  And parents who are loaded enough to buy them into a program like that.  Do we still need to pretend to be amazed when a child does something proficiently?  Just how incompetent and stupid do you people think kids are?  I'm not saying this was bad, I'm a bit perplexed at how low the bar of achievement for young people still is.
