Nowd's mother Dianne said, "I feel like they're discriminating against a kid for being smart."

According to Conference rules, Nowd would be allowed to play with his team had he been held back a grade instead of skipping ahead.

You can't make that stupid shiat up. It's okay if he is big and dumb!

If you're going to take the twice failed 15 year old kid in grade 8 and put him on the same team as the rest you need to push the smart runt up a notch to get clobbered by the older kids.

Kind of sucks to do to the kid mid season because it's not like he can just start up with a new team.

/punish excellence

" Although only four games remain this season for the Central Mass Youth Football and Cheerleading Conference, Nowd was informed that he is no longer welcome to play with the his team, the Bengals, after the organization received an anonymous complaint. "

Crime of Politics. Situation is always fluid. Wouldn't surprise me if this "anonymous" tipster is his classmate.

Have to REALLY start looking at the source before clicking on link.

Stick with the books kid, and let the knuckledraggers kill each other on the field. Your body will thank you when you're older.

Actually, he's more likely to get a concussion if he plays now, because he has to play with kids who are older and bigger, if he wishes to continue playing football.

Pee Wee football: serious business.

if you ask me who ever called in this tip that lead to the kid being booted had a reason for doing it beyond being against the rules or more likely outside the rules as it sounds their are no rules to cover something like this.

I'm betting the kid was an excellent player and either a parent wanting more playig time for their snowflake or else an opposing coach .

It seems like it would make more sense to have the cutoffs be based on actual age rather than grade level.  I assume they based it on grade level so that kids wouldn't 'age out' halfway through a season, but they could always just have it be based on your age before the season, or set an arbitrary date, say, if your birthday is before August 1st you're in this league, if it's after you're in this one if it would otherwise be your last year of age eligibility.

Why do I keep forgetting to check if the link is from opposing views?

I just wanted to point out that your post was terrible and you should feel bad.  Grammar, composition, spelling... all terrible.

Given the research on brain injuries, we should probably ban all kids from sports, or at the very least rewrite the rules of each game so that they may as well be playing a video game with regard to risk of traumatic brain injury.

Strange, subby? He's being prevented because otherwise he'd be playing with folks that are more developed.  A key to a good sport is a level playing field, so really the only thing hurt here is his expectations of being able to play. In the long run, the intelligence will benefit the kid more anyhow.

I don't believe 'they' actually have an agenda, other than page clicks.  I've seen material from them with bias leaning every which way.   It's an aggregator, I don't think they create original content, they just source it and oftentimes rephrase it a bit.  At least they always put the source links at the bottom so you can check to see if there's any spin.

How is this league so crazy not to go by birthdate - not grade level?

Every league my daughters have played in since they were three required a birth certificate and went by age - not grade.

Boo on this league for making this kid feel like a loser when he's a winner.

Illegal forward pass leads to ineligible player downfield?  I thought it was just a five yard penalty.  I guess the refs are cross-eyed.

/we better be careful, we could get a 15 yard loss for taunting.

That completely was a forward pass, which they threw intentionally incomplete to avoid loss of yardage or to conserve time. I can't believe they're not being penalized with the loss of a down and by having to move the line of scrimmage back to the spot of the foul.

I call BS. There is no way a football player enjoys the cognitive function necessary to be skipped a grade.
