Really??

I think he was just conceding that he was out.

See, this is why we need the DH in the NL

He's an outfielder! Not a pitcher, you moran.

Disagree. He played for the Padres for awhile, but then got traded to the Rangers for AGonz because he was so bad at hitting. But now I guess he's back in the NL.

It was a passed ball on strike three, subby.

Catcher has to tag him or throw him out.

Incorrect - it was an "uncaught third strike" or "dropped third strike".

See MLB rule 6.05.

Passed ball on 3rd strike. He was in no position to fight it, just giving in to the inevitable. Fair play I say.

Agreed. Pitchers hitting is an atrocity

while true in general, ...the Easton in question is an outfielder....

I think it's more like professional courtesy. "Hey guy, I know you have to tag me, I'm not going to run, let me just make it even easier on you."

Actually, Easton was both.

Unless you mean the Easton who never actually played a position in the majors, but that seems silly.

Wrong. The one you're thinking of hasn't been in the majors since 2009. The Adam Eaton in question is listed here. Moran.

Jesus Christ, dude.  I was giving you the benefit of the doubt the first time, but if you SERIOUSLY think I don't know the difference....

Sorry. It's impossible to pick up sarcasm around here sometimes.

And the fact that in a later reply I went through the trouble of looking up two obscure players named "Easton" didn't make you think "Hmmmm, maybe the guy with a profile full of baseball stuff isn't 100% serious?"

But ok, have fun calling everyone "morans."

He's still incredibly touchy that the Dodgers swam in the D-Backs pool. The nerve of those guys!

Swimming in a pool is the least grittiest thing ever, as far as I'm concerned.

The biggest news is that League struck someone out.

So on one end of the scale, we have swimming in a pool.  On the other end, Eric Byrnes and David Eckstein's baby.  Got it.
