"An elegant race for a more civilized time. Before the dark times, before the Red Bull Empire."

"How did Formula 1 die?"

"A young engineer named Darth Newey, who was a pupil of mine until he turned to evil, helped the Empire hunt down and destroy the other teams. He betrayed and murdered the sport. Now the Driver's Championship Race is all but extinct. Newey was seduced by the Dark Side."

i'm going with "yes" to all 3

2013-09-22 07:41:05 AM
Unless his gearbox breaks, I declare it to be an absolute physical impossibility for Vettel not to win this. fark.

Snert.

I could be worse, Newey could be working with Ross Brawn. That combo would make a car i could win a WC in.

From the grid walk

Brundle: There is a rumor Justin Bieber is on the grid so i'll try to avoid him

I'm pretty sure they're not allowed to work for the same team - it's a secret provision in the Concorde Agreement.

Glad they removed that stupid chicane.

2013-09-22 07:58:13 AM
I think there should be a resource allocation rule stating that Adrian Newey may not stay with any team for longer than two years.

So Seb gets no first name, the only team worth mentioning is the one that finally climbed into Q3, and what's up with all the NASCAR keywords?

Dammit, Nico, why the hell did you go wide?

Will Sebastian Vettel run away with it

Yes.

2013-09-22 08:13:27 AM
The standard RedBull crank the car up to the max to get a lead then coast for the rest of the of the race.

2013-09-22 08:14:07 AM
Damn missed the start
-
Vettel is in the lead
-
Damn missed the race

And I love that thermal cam

a sports thread about something that isn't a sport on a channel nobody gets.

My thought process at the start:

Go on go on go on go on yes yes yes yes YES YES YES NO NO NO F*CK

2013-09-22 08:18:20 AM
Bleah. This season started off so promising until RedBull threw its weight around and got the tires put back how they like.

2013-09-22 08:18:23 AM
Knowing Webber, I'm sure he's just as tired as I am of messages like "we suggest a gap to Alonso of two seconds". How about "we suggest racing Alonso"?

The UFC thread was posted last night

And Kimi just set the purple lap....in 13th.

2013-09-22 08:33:30 AM
It just occurred to me - we didn't have a thread about Raikkonen moving to Ferrari next year.

2013-09-22 08:36:34 AM
I don't understand Sergio - is he trying to be a more likeable version of Grosjean?

2013-09-22 08:38:31 AM
Next years cars can't come soon enough. Hopefully the red bolls lose some of their advantage.

2013-09-22 08:41:04 AM
BWAHAHAHA - Hulk:  "WHAT?? FOR WHAT???"

Dude sounded like Perez kicked him in the nuts.

2013-09-22 08:41:51 AM
Is Lewis *ever* happy with his tires?

Vettel. FTFY

Webber has been quite ordinary this year.

2013-09-22 08:45:48 AM
Seb's lead over P2....

IT'S OVER 9.000s!!!

2013-09-22 08:47:35 AM
Formula 1... the world's most expensive parade.

2013-09-22 08:50:06 AM
Did they just tell Seb to go faster!?

2013-09-22 08:51:06 AM
Riccardo out in turn 18

2013-09-22 08:51:08 AM
Daniel Retardo.

2013-09-22 08:51:30 AM
S....A....F....T....E....Y....   CAR!!!

2013-09-22 08:51:41 AM
SC out

2013-09-22 08:51:54 AM
So much for Seb going faster. Daniel Ricciardo just ran a consumer test on the padding on turn 18....

2013-09-22 08:55:02 AM
Wow, you'd have to spend a lot of time in Beverly Hills to find a worse nosejob right now.

2013-09-22 08:56:15 AM
And none of the people anywhere near Vettel puts new tyres on. Oh well.

2013-09-22 08:58:15 AM
Bianchi and chilton get to go around

Heh...

2013-09-22 08:59:51 AM
Hopefully they are only allowed half a lap instead of a full. It would keep it interesting.

2013-09-22 09:02:19 AM
Ted saying 57/58 laps instead of 61

2013-09-22 09:02:49 AM

lokis_mentor: Bianchi and chilton get to go around

They're a full 6 seconds faster than the field that's lined up behind the Safety Car...and the interval between Pic and Chilton is STILL over 40 seconds.

2013-09-22 09:02:50 AM
They reckon they'll make it only to about lap 58 before hitting the two-hour limit. Stupid unlapping rule.

2013-09-22 09:03:08 AM
Lets see a safety car in Singapore, so did any one tell Ricciardo to stuff it into the wall to help some one out?

Maybe Seb's car was running low of fuel?

2013-09-22 09:03:29 AM
This safety car seems to have been going on forever for such a minor accident...

2013-09-22 09:04:00 AM
SC in

Team Orders, in My F1? Neva!

SC In at end of 30

LOL Marussia's are so slow they're extending the caution.

They should just throw the green anyways. No other series demands the backmarkers be caught up. So long as they're not right in front of the leaders.

2013-09-22 09:08:25 AM

Tellingthem: This safety car seems to have been going on forever for such a minor accident...

It's because of the whole "get the car and debris off the track" part of clearing the accident, that's why the SC had to come out.

Seb had a 13 second lead over P2 before SC. It's extremely unlikely that Dan locked his tyre on purpose.
