I think that the OCD-like usage of rhyming couplets, as well as the grandiose sounding lyrics that, upon further examination, make little sense, would appeal to people with mashed potato brains.  They're like a word salad combining disparate elements into an oddly-appealing whole for those with a strange sense of music taste.

So should I be griping about Coldplay or about another obviously forged Daily Mail story?

So in this case Coldplay would be part of the cure, rather than the disease?

I like to listen to Coldplay while wearing macramé shorts and watching 'Made In Manhattan'...

I'm not into Coldplay.  I find people who like Coldplay more amusing.

UsikFark: Everything Sounds Like Coldplay Now

It's better than a lot of stuff out there now. At least they don't use the abomination that is auto tune. Everything sounds like crap to me lately because of that abortion of a trend.

I'm not sure about the "everything sounds like coldplay now" thing,
but Coldplay certainly copied Radiohead's "The Bends" 1995 sound for their 2000 album "parachutes"

/thank god they branched out from that later.
// is Coldplay the Radiohead for mashed potato brains ?

The guy regained most of his lost abilities after a year-and-a-half.
Doctors figured it should have only taken a week, but was hindered by the crapiness of the music.
