monteith checked out when he figured out he reached his "acting" zenith, and wasn't worthy to wipe klugman's ass.

I don't know. I think the kid's got a damn good point and I don't begrudge him a bit for expressing his opinion on it.

I'm only surprised those Emmy idiots didn't throw Jonathan Winters under the bus too.

2013-09-21 09:10:54 PM
Really? We are surprised about this in a youth obsessed society?

/ But Cory was "dreamy"!
// I don't want to live on this planet anymore

Oh but honoring Klugman wouldn't have been PC enough for Obama's America. Klugman was old and Jewish and he may not have even been a liberal!

"Besides Monteith, the "Glee" star who died in July of a heroin and drug overdose, those to be honored include "The Sopranos" star James Gandolfini; Jean Stapleton of "All in the Family"; comedian and actor Jonathan Winters; and "Family Ties" producer Gary David Goldberg...

'It's an insult and it really seems typical of this youth-centric culture that has an extremely short attention span and panders to only a very narrow demographic' of young adults, Adam Klugman said."

Yes, because Jean Stapelton and Johnathan Winters were really big with this generation's youth.

Your father died last year. The Emmy organizers decided to honor those who died last year collectively as a group. You may not agree with their decision but it's in no way motivated by disrespect of your father or concern over a young demographic.

I heard neither Jack Klugman nor Cory Monteith were particularly interested in this event whatsoever....

Cory Monteith - heroine junkie who OD'd on the stuff

yeah, great prioritizing, Emmy people.

Fark the Emmys.  I'm 32 years old and I remember Klugman very well from Quincy, The Odd Couple and the many of the other stints he did on tv.  I never watched "Glee" so I don't have a friggen' clue who Cory Monteith was, other than he was the guy my age who played in "Glee" and died.  I'm completely on the son's side, here.

FTFA: "To a younger generation, Cory Monteith's portrayal of Finn Hudson (on 'Glee') was highly admired, and the producers felt that he should be included along with the four other individuals we have singled out," Ehrlich said.

What a non-statement.

Unfortunately, fame and history are quickly forgotten in today's society.

Klugman's kid is probably ninety years-old at this point, and yelling at clouds.

I get why they think they have to include Monteith but not including Jack is dumb.

Fark the kids of today if we have to make them feel like special snowflakes by celebrating the useless life of a singing junkie who only had a quarter of the talent of the useful lives of our singing junkies or yore.

Jack Klugman was a legend.

2013-09-21 11:28:05 PM
Klugman was great in the Twilight Zone, he could act circles around most of what we have now.

Not just you.

Oddly enough it wasn't until a couple of years ago that I found out there were actually lyrics to that theme song.

I am the entertainer, the idol of my age
I make all kinds of money when I go on the stage
Ah, you see me in the papers, I've been in the magazines
But if I go cold, I won't get sold
I get put in the back in a discount rack
Like another can of beans

LOL!!  Reminds me of my internship at the Coroner's office.  I would eat lunch while an autopsy was going on in the next room.  I also made the mistake of associating the smell of decomposition with blue cheese dressing.   sorry

It is a disgrace, leave out the drug addict and add in Oscar Madison & Tony Nelson. His son is right.
