Does he deserve any cake this year, after laying a deuce on the public in the form of the TV series "Under The Dome"?

He's got to take some responsibility for that hot mess.

Let's see how Doctor Sleep is before we judge him for the year.

/it's probably going to suck

I haven't read anything by Stephen King in a long, long time.  I did see a movie based on the book Horns by his son Joe Hill.  I really liked it.

Scariest moment:

Annie Wilkes pulling the knife out from under Paul's mattress, that he had been hiding:

"Then what is this Paul? What is this?"

At that moment I bailed out--Paul was screwed.

The Book was better.

He has written some good stories and he has written some real stinkers. Overall I am glad he is still writing and wish him well. Happy Birthday Mr. King. You owe me for "Cell" though. That was pure stink.

The best thing Stephen King ever did was his role in "Creepshow".

His scariest book:

ecx.images-amazon.com

/that was one of his ghostwritten books, was it?

For his birthday, he got a book editor.

For heaven's sake King, a book doesn't need to be 1,000 pages long.

I hope you have a happy birthday.

I hope somebody gets you a proper editor as a gift.

I hope you can write better endings than "blow up all the things".

I hope.

Happy Birthday, Mr King.

Just finished listening to the entire Dark Tower series, while on the drive to and from work and it only took eight months.

Joyland was a good read and I am looking forward to seeing what Danny Torrance has been up to.

I am not easily scared. One of my weaknesses? Cockroaches. So I curse and praise King and George Romero for that godamned story in Creepshow. The ONLY movie where I have to try really hard to not cover my eyes.

And I am a huge fan of Maximum Overdrive for some strange reason.

I've read 28 King novels (just counted) and I'd say I thoroughly enjoyed 25 of them. Yes, he can have trouble ending them, but the ride is usually pretty damn fun. Supposedly a pretty nice guy too.

Happy birthday Mr. King.

Duma Key is definitely my favorite of his most recent books. I don't think it gets enough love. Take away the supernatural stuff and it's still a great story about a broken (both physically and emotionally) man and his attempt to start a new life.

Thanks, Mr. King, for all the wonderful stories. Happy birthday.

Anderson's Pooper: Joyland was a good read and I am looking forward to seeing what Danny Torrance has been up to.

I just finished Joyland about 10 minutes ago. It was a nice read. I've always thought Stephen King could develop a character better than just about anybody.

Happy birthday.

There are few phrases more evocative than "snot-green crotchrocket" in the English language.
