People still think weed is addictive?

I had to go through DARE education too when I was a kid, but you can break yourself out of that government-sponsored brainwashing bullshiat eventually, subby.

Blues_X: What is with the ooga booga reefer madness shiat?

Dunno. CNN has had a rash of these kind of articles too. I stopped reading one when they said something along the lines of "Let's face it. "Medical marijuana" is a joke."

Take the THC away from me for three days and then tell me I don't need it. Sleep deprivation is way worse than anything pot makes me do.

/don't care for the edibles. Different high. I'm trying to go to sleep, not build shiat.
//was in rehab for a stint trying (and failing) to treat PTSD. Every single drug counselor I met told me I didn't have an addiction problem.

You can't be addicted to cannabis. Seriously. Stop this nonsense. Show me poor shaking bodies on methadone as they detox from cannabis. You can't. Show me overdose deaths from cannabis. You can't.

Seriously. There is no practical LD 50/30 for cannabis in regards to human beings.

This. I am a heavy smoker, I smoke daily and have for most of the last five years, I hate the thought of not having weed to smoke when I get off work. But when I do run out, I'm just bored not withdrawal  Like right now I've been out since Thursday. I'm not shaking, in pain or overly irritated (well a little irritated but I attribute that to just coming from the political tab). I'm about as addicted to weed as they come, but it seems like nothing compared to a cigarette smoker going an extra couple hours without a smoke.

Not physically, no. Mental addiction, however, is a very real thing. There is no shortage of stoners who claim they can't function normally if they're not high.

My dad would pull IVs out of his arm in the hospital to get a smoke.

This.  When I run out, I don't fiend.  When I smoked cigarettes, I could be an entirely different person going through nicotine withdrawals.  When I don't have any smoke, it's more of a 'man, I wish I had some...oh well' and go on about my business.

When I was in school, I never saw students addicted to pot.  I saw them become addicted to the lifestyle, now whether or not you could make the claim for mental addiction...eh, for some, I'm sure you could.  They were the same ones who were addicted to everything else, video games, soda, cigarettes, alcohol, etc.

I don't generally drive high. One time when I did, I had trouble doing a 50 mph speed limit because going over 45 seemed too fast.

You really have nothing to worry about with high drivers. They would stop 100 ft before the light instead of 10 ft after it, and every story of a high driver getting into an accident has alcohol involved too.

GentDirkly: Are any of these things labelled to show how many milligrams of THC are in the food?

Yes, generally they are.  Some are also labeled in "doses" with 20mg as the standard dose.  When you buy the flowers, the container lists nitrogen, potassium, phosphorus, calcium, magnesium, sulfur, cobalt, copper, iron, imidacloprid, manganese, molybdenum, zinc, and abamectic.

Imidacloprid is a systemic insecticide.
abamectic is a "natural" insecticide.

Why is that?

I know somebody who smokes pot when on long drives so he can stay awake (yes, it has that effect on some people), and his driving is impeccable. I'd rather ride with him than somebody who isn't stoned, and drives like an asshole (speeds, tailgates, etc...)

I'm talking about alcohol DUIs.

It's stupid to assume people who use weed daily will be high, and take away their license to drive. Alcoholics who prove they can't distinguish between sober driving and drunk driving should lose theirs.

I'm pretty sure you know something he doesn't: Weed doesn't make you a bad driver.

People get high at a party once or twice (where they were also drinking) and think they know what it's like for the experienced user.

Being high while driving makes following the unnecessarily low speed limits a joy. It also limits road rage.

Look, we let 60 year olds drive giant SUVs.  Reaction time just isn't that important (not that weed greatly impacts reaction time).
