Aristocles: What's more pathetic, the fact that the GOP won't let Benghazi not be a thing, or the fact that Farklibs will give any old GOP/Benghazi thread 200+ comments?

You are responsible for about 3% of the activity here (and rising).  Does that mean that you are 3% Farklib?  Careful.  You might get primaried.

Within hours of the attacks ending, some government sources in Washington were already acknowledging they might well have been planned and organized in advance, and that members of two militant factions, Ansar al Shariah and al Qaeda's North Africa-based affiliate, known as al Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb, may have been involved.

Aristocles: Ricardo Klement: I am not sure why the Republican Party chose this strategy. If you wanted to maximize the political damage to the Democrats among independents, this isn't how you go about doing it. If you want to maximize energizing your base, you do this. This didn't really make sense during the election - GOP turnout is always pretty good. And, empirically, we lost the election. Was it the idea that money would win the election? It wasn't a bad bet, certainly from a Democrat perspective, because the Democratic Party has been rather upset that Citizens United would lose elections. Maybe the GOP thought the same thing, and opted for energizing the base. Once committed, they can't back down elegantly. Then again, some people might be positioning themselves for 2016. Maybe not the presidency, but a promotion to either leadership positions or to the Senate.

Except, what you're not realizing is the GOP isn't "trying to make Benghazi a thing." Obama himself said that he was going to hunt down those who were responsible.

I guess by "hunt down terrorists" he really meant "arrest a youtube d-bag."

Thanks, Obama!

You don't understand my objection. There were two ways of handling this: 1) maximize the actual culpability Obama has to face; 2) pretend this is the worst thing since the Holocaust. 1) would have been effective, but we would have to admit that it's not the worst thing in the last decade, much less the last century. We would have gotten more mileage with less noise. Instead, we stir this up so much, that we actually LOSE effectiveness. Not that this would have been a great scandal for the administration or anything, but at least we don't make him look like the victim of over-exuberant nonsense, but as an administration that could have done better.

2013-09-21 09:01:46 PM
I'm thinking that they should have dispatched Thunderbird 1 within 5 minutes, knowing that it was an organized attack. Being hypersonic, it could have arrived in an hour, and driven the attackers off by hovering over them or playing a video or something, That would have given time for Thunderbird 2 to load up with proper rescue equipment and SEALs, although it would take about 6 hours.

Jesus H.W. Christ, you Farklibs are dense this evening.

It's from the SAME LINK! I'm quoting it, I'm not the author.

I know.  And it doesn't support the original claim that you are trying to support.  Do you understand the meaning of the words 'may' and 'might' compared to something as definite as a claim of 'They knew from the beginning '?

You are simply cherrypicking and ignoring what the rest of the article is telling you about what the intelligence community knew.

No. If that's what the BOB admin is willing to release, you and I both know damn well that BOB's people were telling him from the beginning that this was planned.

BOB chose to spread the "youtube" lie in order to keep terrorism out of his campaign.

And you dem libs swallow every last drop of BOB's B.S.

Who is Bob?

Aristocles:  you and I both know damn well that BOB's people were telling him from the beginning that this was planned.

No.  We don't. And you have providing nothing that demonstrates otherwise.  Quit making stuff up.

freak7: notto: You first.  Provide a definitive source for your claim that tells us who stayed for the hearings from both sides of the chamber.  Otherwise, my claim is a good as yours and as well supported.

There are hundreds of sources showing who walked out, I'm not doing your research for you.

No one should in congressional or senate hearings, disrespect the witnesses.
