freak7: The Obama administration won't even admit to erroneously blaming the attack on an internet video or that when they initially briefed the country, that they were withholding known facts, but hey, they're totally telling the truth about everything else.

At least you didn't call it a scandal.

Why are you changing the subject from your claims that the administration didn't admit they made mistakes when they did admit that?  This thread is about the non-scandal of Benghazi.

I hear Rome is nice this time of year.

If he's looking for facts about Benghazi, howcome he's not visiting the one place where Benghazi actually happened?

Because Beghazi actually happened in 5 star resort hotel. You believe it happened at an American consulate out in middle of nowhere Lybia? You've been listening to the liberal lame stream MSM media too much. You need to study it out.

Oh, I'm sorry, I was talking about mistakes as a general concept.  You know, any mistake at all.  Let me know if you have any proof of admitting to mistakes by the GOP-holes re: anything they've done in the last 40 years.

However,  I believe someone already replied to you about this up thread a bit.  Reading comprehension, use it.

Or are you now complaining they took too long to say that mistakes were made?  Because, if you were going to wait for your typical GOP-hole or Teahadist to admit making a mistake, you'd have to wait for the heat death of the universe.  So, yet another win for the libby-lib-liebruls.  Don't you feel foolish?

The Republicans were really hoping to turn this into a scandal so that they could use it to discredit Hillary Clinton's leadership as Secretary of State when she runs for President (which possibility terrifies them).
What the Republicans should really worry about is their internal division and lack of any prospective candidate who isn't demonstrably a clown or just hideously tainted. (See every GOP candidate from last Presidential election.)

They admitted to a couple of minor mistakes, only after it blew up in the media and they could no longer deny them without looking like idiots. Since we know they were so willing to lie about something as minor as the reason for the attack, why are you so sure they're telling the truth about everything else?

Ah, so you ARE complaining that it was too long before they admitted a mistake.  You must be out of your mind with concern about the planet-sized passel of mistakes the GOP-holes and Teahadists make every single second that passes.

Sure - but that's really just collateral. The question is where, SPECIFICALLY, the scandal is purported to exist. I can't find it. It seems to me that conservatives have been unable to articulate the problem.

Yeah, the "lie" thing again?

Okay, let's do this.

The attack against the American consulate and CIA annex in Benghazi was an act of terrorism that was perpetrated by AQ and backed up by local militias who *were* incensed over the release of that agit-prop video.

The reason for the attack remains AQ's ongoing war against America and America's lethal response to that.

That noted, among the reasons it was able to take place successfully (from the terorist's POV) was A) because many local militias *were* in a tizzy over the video and were ready to assist AQ in their plans and B) Because the protests against that video (that took place not only in the middle east but all over the world resulting in many deaths and injuries) had stretched thin America's ability to protect all of it's assets at once.

Pretending that the video wasn't a factor shows you aren't taking this seriously at all.

Then my claim stands as solid as yours.  More Republicans than Democrats left the hearing before the parents 'testified'.  Just look at the pictures.  Or, you can provide one of these hundreds of sources that show who walked out (from both sides of the aisle).  Or, is this just another unsupported claim you are going to make (and then back peddle from).
