Actually kind of interesting; I scored a 3.

32 ... I guess there goes my shot at Project Runway

ArcadianRefugee: Actually kind of interesting; I scored a 3.

Excellent score. In my case, I had a 14, and I thought I had nailed the test. Very interesting.

300, very colour blind.

2013-09-21 09:23:31 AM
That made me feel kinda seasick.

34.  I appear to be about 75th percentile for my age and gender.  Meh.  I knew I wasn't going to be brilliant at color, I've always sucked at visual arts.

2013-09-21 09:27:01 AM
19. Can't complain.

2013-09-21 09:27:05 AM
11 - thought it was perfect but for my age not bad I guess.

nice find subby

I got a 4. Missed 4 consecutive in the blue to green shift. Damn.

\Male aged 30-39, apparently I did well for that.

20, but I've been up all night playing GTA5 so my eyes are tired, plus I have the backlight on this monitor set very low for some dumb reason.  Plus plus and, I got bored testing the tiles against each other.

I totally could have scored a 0 if I wanted to. So there.

0 ( Perfect Color Acuity )...............99 ( Low Color Acuity )

I think the scoring system is sort of messed up

18.. but it's morning, my eyes gunking....

Will have to try again when things are working better.

24, AND I tilted my monitor to make the contrast stand out.  Did it in a bright room with the glossy small laptop monitor.

Each line has one or two that really don't fit in anywhere(think the saturation was off on those few), the effect being a matter of luck/patience for those last few, meaning differential in lower scores is meaningless.  I simply got tired of the test.

Another effect that will affect your score is how the eye will tend to lose precision the more you stare at the same color set, it tends to normalize. Jumping line to line and moving a couple and switching to a different line will help mitigate that.

I frequently notice that when driving.  On a sunny day in a grassy field, i'll close one eye for a minute or so(say, to avoid sun glare in both eyes).  The green grass will appear to be a different richness depending on which eye you close.

I feel like the monitor you use and your color settings will have a lot to do with how well you can do on this

That'd have to be someone intentionally getting the range backwards.  Default scrambled put me at 960 or so.

Didn't we have this already? I'm pretty sure this is a repeat from a long time ago. The weird averages on the end are definitely the same sloppy mess I remember from an earlier time.

StrangeQ: I feel like the monitor you use and your color settings will have a lot to do with how well you can do on this

I forgot to mention that.  That's a huge part of any digital color test. Brightness, contrast, and saturation are all variable from monitor to monitor, even inputs.  On my desktop, I really have to tweak the settings to get the colors right if I am using a vga cable(ie the yellow folders for windows), but with DVI it takes relatively little.  Some people don't mind the miniscule differences and adapt to it over time.  Drives me nuts though, just like people who use my computer and change the resolution to something non-standard for that monitor(ie lcd's always blur if you don't use native resolution).

2013-09-21 10:40:14 AM
Got an eight. But apparently my age group's worst score is 444445389, so I guess I'm pretty good. fark that guy that managed a -160, though; I wasn't even told there was an imaginary plane of colors to work with.

2013-09-21 10:41:04 AM
Got a 3, but my monitor doesn't do a good job of discriminating cool colors. The warm colors I could tell apart easily, but the blue/green made me guess in a few places.

2013-09-21 10:41:59 AM
Also how could you get a -160? Making negative mistakes just seems unfair to the rest of us.

2013-09-21 11:28:10 AM
19 here.  There were a few I knew weren't right but couldn't see where to put them.

Pretty cool.

I got 0, I guess my monitor is nicely calibrated! Or I got lucky...

Fun... scored an 8 for the 30-39 age bracket.  Errors in the mid-green and pinkish transitions.  Will have mrs demented test it later.

Same, 45. the inability to distinguish that part of the spectrum is associated with Viagra usage.

I got a 15. With a max score of over 1300 in my age range, I think I did pretty well.

Colour-blind. I got a 97.
:(

2013-09-21 02:02:07 PM
I got a 0...which kinda surprised me since I've always thought I was pretty terrible at distinguishing between different shades or the same color compared to my peer group.

Browser didn't want me to go there - malware reports. Anyone have any issues there?

2013-09-21 02:55:47 PM
I got a 20, in five groups of four. That seems exactly right for the parts where I stared at the tiles and had no idea of the order. Some of them I think was a saturation issue, but mostly, I just couldn't tell.

2013-09-21 02:58:13 PM
I got a 15.  I might have been able to score better, but I got bored :D

2013-09-21 03:09:26 PM
I scored 0 on the first set of colors, gave up on the other ones. Too time consuming.

Eeep, what about all those 6 bit monitors that use trickery to get 8 bits? I can see the "zipping" of the pixels when I shift from one patch to another. Yeah, I got a cheap monitor, chances are you do too.

2013-09-21 05:46:08 PM
0. Which I admit is meaningless because it's done on a well-calibrated monitor.

I'd only trust the scores if everyone was doing it with physical tiles of color spread out on a table, under controlled, constant lighting conditions. But it's nice to know I didn't inherit the colorblindness on my dad's side of the family.

Yeah, it's a monitor test...

Same.  Weird.

I got a 27, with perfect scores in the green blue area.  Which is good, because I have to look at plants all day, and discern diseases and mineral deficits.

Makes me wonder about when I am trying to show someone how two leaves look different, and they can't seem to see a difference.
