That's because Teddy Roosevelt's manliness was simply too great to be caught on film. It's like trying to measure the speed of light using naught but an ordinary stopwatch.

/technically, that picture wasn't Photoshopped, so it still belongs on that Cracked list

Of course it's fake. Was that ever really in question?

It's still a great photo.

I'm currently reading "River of Doubt" , the story of Roosevelt's exploration in the Amazon after his defeat for the presidency. That guy was tough enough to ride a moose even if the picture is fake.

No.  Reagan would have *NEVER* used a Commie RPG-7.  That's how you can tell it's fake.

I've never even seen that. Is it "newly" discovered?

It's a trophy from the Soviet he beat to death with his own weapon.

The painting "The Queen on a Moose", on the other hand, is only too real. And it's only the beginning.

Charles Pachter seems to make a habit of painting royalty with ungulates.

Her is Her Majesty.

She's thinking about it. You can tell by her smile.

And she goes for it. Yaaaaaaaaaaaaay! Queen on a Moose!

Take a look at the site. Some of his work is bee-you-tea-full. And it is all as Canadian as Red Rose Tea.

Only in Canada you say? Pity.

After reading his biographies by Edmund Morris (which are awesome, btw), he definitely would have done this had the opportunity presented itself!

They're damn good reading. Long as hell though.

Only up through book 2.

Keep reading rumors about him having a tat of the family crest. Given the type of conservative man he was, i have my doubts. Any word if he did in the later end of his life?

True story, the Roosevelt family has long had access to advanced power armor, and have used it to protect our nation in times of need.

The Terror still punched him out, though. Then went off to punch Mount Rushmore over the same grudge.

Looked it up, found lots of references to the tattoo, but no real proof. I actually wouldn't be surprised if he did, though.

And Teddy wasn't very conservative at all. If he was alive today, he'd be far to the left of Obama. He even called himself a progressive, which I doubt many modern Republicans would do so.

Sorry, not politically conservative, I meant in his nature to a degree. Hated drinking after doing too much in college etc. And I saw tons of references to the tattoo but never anything definitive. He was a highly religious man and I think there's something about that in the bible? Maybe? I dunno. Desecration of the body's temple or whatever.

And he was a social liberal sure, and believed business should be held accountable and such, but he was also a big believer in conservative beliefs insofar as religion and such.

Dude tried to get beer banned in NYC on Sundays. And raise the taxes on alcohol in general. Things like that.

It was already illegal to sell alcohol in NYC.  As police chief, Roosevelt attempted to enforce the existing laws.
