Tough journey.  They should move out.  Maybe to Boston or Chicago.  If they don't like the city they could always go to Kansas.

Man, Journey sucks. All that early '80s power-ballad, REO-bandwagon stuff sucks, but Journey goes above and beyond the call of suckitude.

You know those bands didn't always suck. Go past the "hit" MOR singles. Their early stuff and some of the album cuts are harder, and in many cases better. Some of the early Chicago tunes might shock the casual listener. Terry Kath was a monster guitar player.

While I whole-heartedly disagree with you, I'm more into the hair metal (Twisted Sister, early Crue, etc) and death/grindcore metal. Been really digging on the basslines and drums of Death (the fathers of death metal) lately. Oddly, I'm also heavily into 80's/80's alt music as well, such as The Cure, Interpol, and The Cranberries.

To be fair, not that their always bad, but the radio "hits" are *never* the best stuff. *Ever*.

it's an inside joke if you're from the area.  No one refers to a south Detroit, or a north Detroit for that matter.  I suppose technically there is a southern half of Detroit, but in the vernacular of Detroiters, we never refer to it as such.

On topic - I've ensured my kids know the 'Journey Infinity' seque of 'Feeling That Way/Anytime'.  All the Journey haters can byte. While they certainly fall into the fray of 'overplayed cliche's' et al - they did their stretch and deserve SOME respect.  If you still feel the need to berate a simlarly tasked act - stick to REO Volkswagon ,Styxx, &/or Loverboy.

I've met a few people who at some decided to tell me that street lights would frequently shut off when they walked below them and it somehow made them special. Sometimes it's just, "I don't know why, but there's just something about me." Sometimes it's a sign from god.

Perhaps the citizens of Detroit are just very special chosen people.

Yeah. Who put the Dick back in Dictator. We all love you Kevin Orr, Detroit's Emergency Manager, was appointed by GOP Governor Rick Snyder to replace all of the city's elected officials under the state's "Emergency Manager Law," and is the sole authority over the city of Detroit. He answers to no-one except the Governor.

At least they HAVE streetlights.  There aren't any in Southfield at all (it border Detroit for those non-Detroit type people).   We rely on moonlight alone.. it is a bit scary backing out of my driveway at night.  I'm always worried there's going to be someone walking.  Especially because the demographics here mean that 80% of the people in Southfield are somewhat camoflagued by default...

Man, must be tough to have to keep remembering the girl that you sat behind and worshiped in math class that you had a crush on and hoped that you could kiss at the next dance who loved Journey and Steve Perry so much.

I know it must be hard to have to listen to them at times, but you just have to let go man.

You'll get laid eventually.
