In other news, soccer chants are taken to be deadly serious indicators of threatening or subversive behaviour.

Heaven help a goalie who has the slightest paunch.

People still do YSA? I haven't heard it here in Kansas City this season, and I've been to almost every match. I know they still do it at RSL, I think the Revs still use it too? But it's been dying, mostly because it's just not that shocking or funny. Pretty big non-story.

The Crew still do it... but it's mostly the outsiders (away from the Nordecke) it seems.

If i had the wings of an eagle
If I had the ass of a crow
I'd fly over the city of [opponent]

/gods they suck this year

Pretty standard English chant, too.

Don't they still do it at every USMNT match?

It's really stupid

Also not sure why US soccer fans feel a need to pretend they're european/south american when watching soccer, but not any other sport.

error 303: People still do YSA?

They still do it in Seattle - my second least-favorite chant from the Emerald City Supporters in the Brougham End of CenturyLink.

/least favorite is "Let Him Die!"

Meh. YSA sucks, but I'd take that over Mexican fans and their "Putttooooooooo" stupidity.

Nothing beats the "Horto Angelino", by the way.

Every time I see that, I think "US Mutant Ninja Turtles".

You should listen to what the EPL fans chant and sing, especially when it's about Liverpool.

Difference between the people singing at an EPL (or any other Euro/S American) match is they're working class schlubs or street criminals.

At an MLS match the people singing are bearded, micro-brew drinking douchebags.

I think I saw on the sidelines of the last USMNT match a girl standing on a riser acting as a conductor for the fans.  So pathetic.  A bunch of former bank geeks pretending to be "ultras" or "barra brava".

/likes micro brews
//has a beard
///Have no clue why you'd want to spend the whole match singing

What year is this? Are you farking serious? Working class schlubs can't afford those tickets anymore, by design (working class schlubs were usually the front lines of the hooligan armies).

Used to be big in Seattle, but I haven't heard it much this season. The only times seem to be right after they make a stadium announcement about vulgar chants.

Any random NBA game telecast has far more offensive language, coming from the players themselves.

They have the cursing delay. Most fouls on the Lakers are in utter silence on TV.

Seattle fans only do what they're corporate office lets them.  So they should be safe.

The news in the UK in the past week has been pondering the offensiveness of the "Y-word", and whether goyim can claim it for themselves.
