i'm still holding out for the $1T coin. and just to troll fox news, obama should have his boys mock up a giant, 300-ft diameter coin with reagan's face on the front and pretend that it's the real one.

He should put the star and crescent on the front and the Kenyan coat of arms on the back, just to watch the heads explode.

FTA: The retreat by Cruz has led to public questioning from House Republicans about his motives and political acumen, not to mention joking speculation that he may be part of a vast and devious liberal conspiracy to undermine conservatives.

I joke that Republicans eat their dead and wounded.

I was wrong.

Republicans eat their own ALIVE!

I think Senator Cruz is trying to prevent the House Republicans from commiting political suicide.

Those Congressmen in lock-step, redneck districts will probably keep their jobs. But in districts where populations are mixed, those Representatives could be in serious trouble come 2014.

No, just a regular dollar sized coin with Reagan's face on it. It doesn't matter what size it is, just the value assigned to it.
Then he could give a speech and at the end flip it up in the air, catch it, put it in his pocket and walk away.

On the one hand, I do like the idea of Republicans committing political suicide. On the other hand, they are not going silently and will take out as many other people (specifically, everyone who's not rich) as they possibly can.

They don't name a single source. Not one. The House GOP members are afraid to go on the record. My guess is that they WANT to back down from shutting down the government and were delighted to have any excuse to do so. They can even squeal about Senator Cruz being a secret crypto-leftist or whatever (makes them look good to their brain dead constituencies) and it won't hurt Cruz - he isn't up for reelection for almost six years. This is assuming that a lot of the Tea Bagger House members are not as bat shiat crazy as the people who elected them, which may be wrong.

Since St. Ronald was President when the debt hit $1trillion for the first time and subsequently tripled that,I'd say that's spot on.

That's what confused me, at first.  I read the original statement, and the only sin he committed that I can see was telling them something they didn't want to hear: the Dems in the Senate aren't going to go along with it, and Cruz is in no position to force them.  Surprise!

As near as I can tell, he's getting blacklisted for failing to throw a loud enough tantrum on cue.  That's it.  He bashed his head into a brick wall one time too few, to pass the purity guidelines.  And now he's this week's apostate.

2013-09-20 12:33:28 AM
So the end game is going to be the Republicans going "Well we tried but we just couldn't do it!". I wonder how many times the GOP think they can play the teatard for fools. I think we are hitting the low hundreds.

Every week of Freep they all go "I am never voting Republican again. But most likely it's the same people saying that.

And that's enough of a Sin to get him Shunned, if not Excommunicated outright.

It is the second-worst Sin a Republican can commit, apart from agreeing with B. HUSSEIN 0bama on any subject at all (apart from the subject of whether or not Kanye West is a jackass, because he is). Committing that worst Sin has a minimum punishment of immediate and permanent status of Persona Non Grata.

For all the noise that they've been making in the House, they must know that they don't have enough votes in the Senate to accomplish what they want.
