Clearly there are bigger reasons than knowing much of the Internet is Gawker content, but that much of the Internet is Gawker content certainly does keep me in bed in the morning a few minutes longer.

Alcohol from last night?

2013-09-19 08:36:44 PM
Because you touch yourself at night

Ugh, just five more minutes....

Not enough alcohol from last night?

When I don't drink and somehow find a way to fall asleep by midnight, I wake up at 4:30 and lay awake until 30 minutes before I have to get up before feeling really groggy and wanting to go back to bed.

I'm going to blame Fark. . . Just because

I'm usually at work by 7:30am after a two hour commute when I don't Fark at night, but reading some of the late night crazy makes my head spin.

MaudlinMutantMollusk: I blame gravity

That's just a theory.

Actually, the FSM deity restrains me for unknown reason until he sees fit to allow me to arise. I'm just so thankful he does that for me.

A 2 hour commute? Holy shiat. Is that driving?

Door to door, hour and half on the train and walking.. it's what you gotta do to make a buck in NYC.

I solved this problem by not getting out of bed until the afternoon.

Well at least it's not driving. I lived in NYC for a few months, it's not worth it. I think it's an overrated hellhole but that's me. People say the same thing about LA.

Sleep like a Droid app wakes me up when I come out of a deep sleep, I don't have a problem waking up anymore.  It does cost a few bucks to activate.

My apartment passes through a really high-gravity zone between 7:00am - 7:30am rendering it impossible.

I usually have to be up at 4am for work sooo its hard to muster up the desire to leave a nice comfy sleep-state. But then I remind myself I like being able to buy food.

2013-09-19 11:30:38 PM
No mention of morning wood?

Because after you beat it -you just wanna go back to sleep.

2013-09-19 11:31:40 PM
As soon as I wake up, I get up & 'make' my side of the bed. Having dogs helps because I know they need to be walked. I can't hesitate even 5 minutes because I would love nothing more than to spend all day snuggled under the blankets. (which I do once a month or so. Good book, hot cup of tea, & warm quilt = heaven)

I must say that NYC is an overrated hellhole, but at least it's an overrated hellhole where you can get from Point A to Point B (at about 15 MPH on the subway).  LA doesn't even have that going for it.

/You ever really want to learn the NYC subway system?  Get blisters on the first day of your weeklong trip.  If 3 transfers will save you a block of walking, you'll take the 3 transfers.

NYC does have a great transit system, I'll give it that. I never even tried to have a car while living there. LA does kind of suck in that regard.

LA SUCKS. I worked by LAX. If I timed it right, I could miss traffic. Would only take about 45 min. When I had to do the morning show it would take me over 3 hours to get from work.
They biatch about the air. When I was a kid we lived in Covina. You could not see the Mountains. Covina is at the base of the San Gabriel mountains. Now if they get 1 or 2 stage 1 smoke alerts. They go crazy. When I was a kid I remember 90 Degree Christmas mornings. 1 or 2. Now if its over 78 everyone goes crazy. Southern California has 4 seasons. Hot, Hotter, Flood, Fire. At least NY you can take the train.

Cant get out of bed in the morning. Well work just sucks.
