LOL Jon Karl's reaction.

It is comforting to know the White House press secretary has more important things to do than watching "Sharknado", or even knowing what the fark it is.

I know right?  I was thinking "This dude probably works like 12-15 hour days",  Most of us haven't watched the movie anyways.

2013-09-19 04:32:49 PM
am I supposed to be outrages?

am I supposed to go, "ZOMG!  LOL, stupid 0bummer staffer doesn't get a simple reference!  He'z so dum!"

Jay Carney doesn't know what Sharknado is.  Whereas Dana Perino probably would have thought it was a documentary footage.

Buzzfeed in the politics tab. I see we're classing up the green lights around here.

Buzzfeed AND Sharknado.

Quality is Job One.

2013-09-19 05:40:05 PM
I'd be confused by it too; I don't watch that shiat.

2013-09-19 06:03:21 PM
Never heard of it

2013-09-19 06:04:32 PM
What was the actual reference he missed?  Those of us who have neither watched Sharknado nor stoop so low as to click on Buzzfeed links want to know.

2013-09-19 06:04:37 PM
Not that I think much of press secretaries but who the fark cares?

Someone added "-nado" to "gridlock" which was really farking stupid and unnecessary, and Carney didn't get what the "-nado" part was there for.

IMPEACH!!!!1!!1!!!!!!

2013-09-19 06:09:41 PM
Err...where's the joke? That some mouth-breather made a sloppy reference that the press secretary didn't get?

2013-09-19 06:11:57 PM
Who actually says "epic fail" anymore?

If he isn't familiarizing himself with our most complex and intelligent works, how the hell is going to provide the complex and intelligent answers that we need to lower taxes, keep the government out of my life, and defund Obamacare?

Gridlock-nado makes even less sense than Sharknado.
Maybe he got it and was just saying it was as stupidly stated question.
Maybe he didn't get it and was just saying that it was a stupidly stated question.
I think its one of those.

Shh...Keep your voice down when BuzzFeed is around, lest you be dragged off to eight prisons that will ruin your day.

2013-09-19 06:15:14 PM
To be fair, that was a questionado.

2013-09-19 06:16:51 PM
that was much less funny than i was hoping it would be.

2013-09-19 06:16:57 PM
It would only have been an epic fail had he got the reference.

I'm assuming that the fail label is for subby for being, well, a loser.

A sad, pathetic, loser.

THIS!

Seriously. At the next Presidential debates, the Moderator should ask

Moderator: "What is your opinion of the next Sharknado sequel?"

Candidate: "I really enjoyed the original and I...."

Someone who likes buzzfeed and thinks that the White House Press Secretary should laugh at a journalist adding a -nado to the end of random words.

Since our EMR program goes by the name of "EPIC" I say it every darned day.

/I hate Electronic Medical Records
//Shouldn't doctors talk to their patient's face rather than into a computer screen?
//Yes, I'm old.  Get off my stethoscope!

I'm more of a fan of CNN's WRONGNADO.

I thought the question was "are we looking at a gridlocked NATO [...]", it sounded like Carney was unsure what part NATO played as well...

But what are his views on SharkNATO?

This!

Having a top White House official who doesn't spend his time watching B grade movies on cable TV is actually a good thing.

Had EPIC at med school, thought it was terrible until I saw what the prison hospital used. Didn't think it was worse until I saw what residency institution used. Now the hospital I work at is switching to EPIC... circle of EMR life...

One day the farkers will rise up and demand that Buzzfeed be banished from the list, greenlit or sponsored. No clickie.

This whole site has gone in the toilet in the last six months. The greenlit links just get dumber and dumber.

To be fair, WTF is a sharknado. I have seen the word but have no idea what it refers to. I guess I'm just not cool.

EMRs are for charting and record keeping.  It's not a video-phone.
Since when does a doctor do "FaceTime" with a patient via EPIC?

2/10

Am I to understand that a journalist in the white house press corps posed a question referencing a recent pop culture fad? I hope there was actually some content to the question, but I'm not naive enough to watch the clip and be disappointed.
