Carry on my wayward pipeline. There will be bitumen when you are done, Lay your weary drill bit to rest. Don't you cry no more,
/sorry it had to be done

Not likely.  The Mississippi Lime play brought huge amounts of money into an area that exists on small farming and ranching operations.

Do you think it's really because of the abusively cheap price the Americans have scammed us into selling them our oil sands product? Now I REALLY think we should shut the valves at the border and start shipping it all to China. It's costing 'muricans their jorbz ffs!

There's some outfit that wants to do pretty much this in the middle of Wichita. My sister in law has been heavily involved in the fight to stop it...it's pretty crazy what they were close to slipping past the community and getting rubber stamped by the city. Little things like "Oh did we forget to mention the giant gas flare and pipeline?" and "When we said a million dollars a year to the city in oil revenue, what we really meant is a 1 in 15 chance of finding enough oil to possibly net the city up to $1 million a year".

I made the conclusion before I read your nice witty play on the song, I simply thought maybe you agreed. The horribly written article gave no obvious other reason I could see in my quick skim of it.

We have a horizontal drilling operation about a mile up from my house.  We all had legal notices mailed to us from the oil companies attorneys.

I've heard there are legitimate ways to stop things like that.

The chthonians and their mind control powers had nothing to do with this.  Nor the Hortas.  Or Nero and his drilling rig that deposits red matter.
