I think of all the education that I've missed
But then my homework was never quite like this!

That's a nice double standard you got built into the institution of Justice, does anyone still respect it?

Vice cops have great job benefits. In Dallas one cop got a handy and the other full service at a massage studio and then arrested the woman for prostitution.

He and his wife Laura Fiedler, a Springfield Public Schools teacher at the time, are accused of arranging meetings between people seeking sex through online ads and alleged prostitutes.

So, a guy and a girl who wanted to have sex were linked together by this couple. Why is this illegal again?

For the life of me, I'll never understand why the police give a shiat about this stuff. Some guy gets a hand job and some woman makes a few buck. Who the fark cares?

Some local official's wife, or church group, I'd imagine. It has always been thus.

The way teachers are today... by the time a kid gets to middle school they've had more sex with hot teachers than I have had in my whole life (married young).

I think if I went back to university it would be to major in education since all the kinky sex starved women become teachers now.

/ yes I know this teacher wasn't doing it with kids... just a general observation.
// not hot either.

Before most folks here make any assumptions by NOT RTFA, the woman in ? was charge with prostitution that has nothing to do with her 'day' job.

Also I don't see what the big farkin deal is. This woman is offering her services and self promoting. There are no pimps involved, no slavery of any kind etc. I'm all for busting up slavery rings or holding women against their will etc but cases like this I think cops should spend their time solving other crimes.

Because it is illegal to give money for sex.
It is legal to pay the rent for sex though, you simply have to be the one that pays the rent.

Springfield, MO is one of the buckles in the Bible Belt. Beautiful area with lakes, etc. but the fundies are scary.

"His wife, a school district employee since 2001, was making $38,002 in the 2010-11 school year.:

Work as a teacher full time for over a decade and you earn less than $40k.  Still, it's the teachers unions that are bankrupting all of us.

I'm actually okay with the business being legalized and regulated to make sure everyone participating is adult, fully consenting, healthy, and able to keep their own paycheck.

Having the gubment all up in private enterprise is worth it to me to keep the kids and the people held against their will out of the business. Not that you'll ever get rid of that 100%, but it'd be nice if there was a choice to go legal.

Well $38,002 for the school year puts her just under the median income in Missouri. She's not buying an apartment in Manhattan.

Or make sure you film and distribute it. Then it's legal.

Am I correct in assuming that the SAD tag is because he got charged with a crime?

Who would f*ck that for free? The crime was forcing someone to pay. Someone found out their husband went whaling and called the cops.

Well, hold on. Some people don't have the option to move and it's hard to say that another district might pay her better. I wouldn't say she's not trying hard enough or anything and she might be a great teacher.

I know teaching is hard work and more involved than just "show up and teach" but she is getting 93% of the median salary of the state she's in and she's not working 12 months a year. The cost of living in MO isn't particularly high and for a single wage earner ~40k a year isn't going to mean she's eating ramen every night. And obviously this particular teacher wasn't because she was also pimping on the side.

Exactly. Don't you dare muscle in on the church group's racket or work their turf.

IIRC, the couple had office space in the old Landmark building (which is being converted to apartments now). They were posting online ads for hos from that office space and running appointments for the johns. Dude plead guilty to the 2nd degree charge, wife is still fighting the 3rd degree (lesser) charge. The defense of wife appears to be "Only hubby knew that there was sexy time, I thought we were just hooking up massages"

So she's either incredibly naive or incredibly stupid, but as an elementary school teacher in the bible belt, I can see that.

Your problem is that you don't understand that laws are not written by police. Instead of blaming the police, blame your government which was created by you and your forefathers.

You do not want the police deciding which laws should be enforced and which should not. You want the laws to be right so they cannot be abused.
