I'm starting to think it's best that no one say anything ever again.  Especially if something serious happens.

And I sincerely hope I have not offended anyone in saying that.

I love her column from the other day on Syria. Summary: sure he did the right thing and people support it, but the fact that so many people are complaining about him doing it proves he is a terrible president because he fails at "optics."

I make a motion that none of us have to go to work on a day there's a gun related mass homicide in America.   It's really  the only respectful way to go about things.

How can I answer when your premise is undefined? Why do you think it's a big mistake? What makes the political attacks "petty"? What makes his statements attacks at all? Are you saying that a president should not speak on any other topic when something bad happens? Explain yourself.

Good.  It's important that outrage over senseless gun violence be crushed by good old American apathy.  We are well on our way.

i'm saying that when there's an active shooter situation going on (and yes, it was still happening at the time, there was no word whether the multiple shooter thing was true and the number of fatalities wasn't finalized yet), the president shouldn't be using that moment to make a partisan speech where he goes after his political opponents. it's insensitive. obama went ahead and did it anyway and it made him look petty. i believe the phrase used most often was "tone-deaf" and it's absolutely true. he's up there blaming the gop for the country's economic problems while people are getting shot a few miles down the road. the admin should have postponed the speech, it wasn't the time or the place for it.
