Something about the one with Data looks weird, cannot place my finger on it. Maybe the lighting is off?
And Riker does not look good in the yellow shirt.

The rest are not bad, but Laforge and Troi are well done.

Troi looks almost as good in the outfit as Dax did.

Oh yeah...we're talking about TOS uniforms aren't we?...duh.  You mention a comparison of Trek chicks and I get all loopy.

Why couldn't he photoshop Troi in T'Pol's outfit?!

Wouldn't Troi be in a blue shirt?

Back then Troi can wear whatever she wants.

If she wants to wear anything at all...

Isn't it a mistake to put a RED shirt on any of the permanent cast members?

TOS uniforms look dated and low budget, in my opinion.

Was there any purpose behind the color of the shirts?  Other than red = dead if you aren't in engineering?

That uniform fits Dr. Crusher very well.

Worf looks much better wearing red than yellow.

Scotty did fine enough.

I was going to suggest putting Data in Operations Red given his role as Operations Manager, though come to think of it I don't think that position was around on an old school Constitution class starship.

Gates crushes it in the TOS blue (as she did in TNG blue)

All I can think of when I see the Picard photo is that I hope he waxes because otherwise back hair is going to pop out the rear of that shirt.

I figured Gold was Officers, Blue was Specialist, and Red was Enlisted. Similar to how it was reversed in TNG.

When she wore the regular uniform (either the standard one toward the end, or the skant in "Farpoint"), she was wearing blue.

In TOS, Red was Starship Operations (Engineering and infamous Security), essentially support personnel to help mission specialists and command division types do their job.  Blue is Science Division; recall that Starfleet is primarily an exploratory organization with paramilitary responsibilities too (at least as Roddenberry envisioned it). Gold is Command and higher level Operations bridge officers. If I recall Enterprise used this color scheme but it was lessnoticeable as they wore jumpsuits with departmental color piping.

TNG on kept this structure but swapped what red and gold meant. The game Star Trek Online does away with Command Division entirely (you can create your own custom colored uniforms and a lot of players go with white for that), keeps Science as blue but separates Engineering (Gold) and Security (Red).

In TOS, Gold = Command, Blue = Science/Medical, Red = Operations (Security/Engineering/Tactical/Communications,etc.), and that ugly green thing that often looks pretty yellow on the old film = Captain, and ranks are displayed by bands around the lower sleeves.

In TNG, Red = Command, Blue = Science/Medical, Gold = Operations, and ranks are displayed by pips on the collar.

This was the 80s. They actually gave the shrink a seat next to the Captain so yeah. they considered it a science.

I actually agree. The  uniformsstarting with Wrath of Khan are the only ones that look like uniforms. The ones starting withFirst Contact aren't bad but they're still jumps suits.

If this new JJ Trek is supposed to be more militarized because of the events that changed the timeline, the uniforms should get more militarized.

He's flesh-colored. Well, mostly. His ears are still kind of golden. Also, his eyes are blue instead of gold.

His expression is also really weird.

On another note, Troi looked best in a form fitting standard uniform when she made commander. Maybe it was just the hair. I don't need her cleavage to appreciate her.
