It's all good fun, until the water heater explodes.

Why did they have so many people? I can't imagine that being more than a 5 man job, tops.

Guy 1: cameras
Guy 2: plumbing
Guys 3-N: schlepping

Assuming it's legit, maybe the guy has a lot of friends who wanted to be in on it.

That's true, and if it was legit (though I think not) it would have cost a ton of money, and they'd all be good for that.

If this is legit, I need to find better friends.

It feels very much like some goddamn fake viral ad to me, too, but after watching it I have absolutely no idea what beer they're selling, so maybe not.

And probably screwed up the icemaker.

Probably because 8 kegs of good beer is not cheap.

Meh, I'd just take an upper decker in everyone of his toilets.

Yum.

Nope it was  i.imgur.com You can see the label on every keg as they roll them under the house.

My friends and I do the same kind of pranks on our friends. We've got enormous amounts of disposable income and an eternity of free time. We realize we could use these resources to do something to help starving children or people with terminal illness, or some other cause to help the less fortunate, but our elaborate, pointless pranks are WAY MORE FUN, bro!  Dude...beer faucet! I mean, come on! We don't mind spending tens of thousands of dollars on video equipment to capture the outcome, too.

Yeah, I know it's a corporate gag intended to go "viral". I'm just in a sarcastic mood.

Next time, go "Dudes playing wheelchair basketball". Heartstrings, my man. That's what gets on FB.

They didn't tie into a single line, they tied in at multiple places, so all you do is NOT tie into the water heater, and NOT tie into the line to the icemaker if they even have one. You then cap off the existing water lines at each point, and hook up the beer to both hot and cold. It's why they have the kegs all over the place, otherwise, they have just hooked them in at a single point.

abhorrent1: Where were the CO2 tanks?

Yeah, because the video showed the ENTIRE setup, as well as the entire time it took to set it all up. Just because you don't see the CO2, doesn't mean it wasn't there, just that it didn't make it into the edits.

2013-09-17 12:47:45 PM
Would have been more convincing had they not showed the huge bank of expensive video monitoring equipment.

2013-09-17 01:08:05 PM
Your viral sucks.

2013-09-17 01:40:37 PM
That's not a prank, it's a gift from the heavens.

See...you ruined my bit.   I was playing the old, Kiwi Country is Australia and Australia is Austria gag.

The prank itself was real, but it was sponsored by Tui.

2013-09-17 05:55:42 PM
I'll be honest if my friends pulled this on me I'd be thanking them right up until I had to shower before work the next morning.

You can see at least one when the guy crawls under his house. It's a pretty small one, so they either didn't set it up to run for long, or there were more.

Also, I need a better class of friends.

In all fairness, helping people is kind of lame.

It looks like a 10lb cylinder, which should have been plenry to do what they were attempting. It wouldn't last for emptying all the kegs though.

2013-09-18 12:09:20 AM
Plenty. I need to proof read more gooder.

2013-09-18 01:36:31 AM
So this guy maintains a circle of 15 friends close enough to put the fund and time into this kind of prank?  That's a heck of a social commitment.

2013-09-18 03:02:40 AM
Real friends would hook you up to a vodka main vein.  or so that's what i've been told.
