coupled with his commercials on the radio saying Booker is a "Fail mayor" (outright lie) and linking Booker to Obama.  Obama won the state by almost 18 points.  I don't think Lonegan thought it strategy out very well.

Well the idea of "Carousel"  from that movie is an almost perfect metaphor for the ideal GOP society:  People willingly destroying themselves trying to reach the top and claim the riches and rewards that come with that (and the powers that be secretly knowing the game is fixed and NO ONE ever actually wins)

I like his radio commercials that talk about about what a crime-ridden hell hole Newark is and then says to vote for Lonegan, the "suburban mayor." My neighbor's dog goes nuts every time it plays.

FTFA:Lonegan, who says the election will be "a referendum on Obama,"

No, No it's not Steve. But you go with that plan Steve. It worked out great for Romney, especially in New Jersey.

I can live with Sen. Booker NJ-D

2013-09-16 01:26:17 PM
He really has his finger on the pulse of the citizenry, obviously.  Of course, that finger is on the dead corpse of white men from the 50s and hence the lack of understanding of what exactly is going on in Jersey.

and then....

Lonegan told the crowd, according to video of the event: "Cory Booker is the Hollywood stand-in in this election for Barack Obama."

How's that black/white/brown outreach going?

Curious on this as well.  Does he KNOW he has no chance and he's just going for national right wing troll street cred so he can pick up a Fox News job?  Or is he just that incompetent and stupid?  Every statement from him in that article is factually incorrect, retarded, and bullshiat.

"I don't care if Cory Booker is gay or straight, he's too liberal for New Jersey and he's the failed mayor of Newark and that's what matters," Lonegan said.

See, that's how we know you're either just trolling or retarded.  EVERYONE, including Republicans, know that Booker has been a good mayor.   Are you so morally bankrupt that you can't just say that?  Why does every tea bagger have to go the route of "my opponent is too incompetent to even dig ditches."   Can't you just say "Mr. Booker has done a passable job as mayor but he lacks the expertise and competence to hold this national office."

Republicans, this joke of a campaign is what your donations to the Republican party goes to.  THIS is your money at work.

This ass-clown thinks the election will be "a referendum on Obama"? Doesn't he realize he is running for a seat in the Senate? I guess he thinks running with the President as his imaginary opponent will be easier than running against his actual opponent who is leading him by 35% in the polls.

I like Governor Christie's quote:  "I had to choose - it was a very tough choice - but I had to choose between my wife and Rand Paul."

I think this is more "New Jersey / Newark sucks" then right wing trolling.

For several years I had to drive through to Newark to a job site in Jersey City.  Man did the area around the airport stink.

FTFA: "I think Steve Lonegan can be the answer to how we grow the Republican Party," Paul said at the rally in Clark, N.J. "Republicans can win in New Jersey the same way Republicans can win in a presidential election, if we become a bigger party ... black, white, brown. We need a party that looks like the rest of America and we can be that party."

How can Steve Lonegan, a white, right wing Tea-bagger help the Republicans "grow the Republican party" and make the party more "black, white, brown" ? Especially his campaigning with Rand Paul, another white right winger who opposes civil rights legislation.  Don't see much outreach going on here with people of color, women, etc.  This guy is the worse kind of Republican candidate to have a chance of winning in New Jersey.  And he's getting very little money from national Republican organizations.  I think mainstream Republicans (what few are left) see he has no chance.

When people are saying that Booker is a 'good' mayor, they are referring to the fact that they guy isn't stealing everything that isn't nailed down like the previous guy. It has actually nothing to do with performance. A city with increasing crime and murder rates, is not improving. A city with failing schools, is not improving. A city that gets a 100 Million dollar education grant from Facebook and spends it on consultants, is not improving. Where did THAT money go to? Oh yea, 'consultants' politically connected bozos to make money disappear and campaign contribution to appear.......

Commercial rivals sometimes attack each other's social media or interactive gaming sites with spambots.  Phrases like the above could be dropped into any thread, to make it seem as if the site is populated by idiots (not that Drew needs help with that).

Paul2 can't get any more love/traction on Fark than Booker's opponent will get in NJ.  Still, TFA points out that after the dust-up with Christie over disaster relief, "Paul offered to bury the hatchet over a beer, but Christie said he was too busy."  Then Christie was invited to the campaign event and declined because it was his wife's birthday, but that night he ended up blowing her off anyway for a photo op at another emergency scene.  So who shows behavior more like you want in a leader:  the one who acts as if someone who disagrees with him on a policy issue is a leper, or the one who reaches out to try to keep communications open and find areas of agreement?
