Huh.  I had figured it would be the crazy eyes chick, but this one is a good choice.  i'd forgotten about her.

the WU person has to be able to play it straight, and of the current cast the men are a bit too shticky or "established" as sketch players.  the WU chair usually has a non-sketch person in it (myers, miller, mcdonald, quinn) but obviously, fallon/poehler was an exception.

good choice.

Feh, I can top that. SNL wasn't even funny in season 1 unless you were drunk or stoned. It found bits that made the drunk stoners giggle and repeated them until even they got bored.

Agree with this, but with this twist: last season was the first solid season... pretty much ever. Their best by far. The cast is solid, there is a minimum of repeating characters and mugging for camera and instead just solid comedy. Great stuff.

This. SNL is a the kind of show DVRs were invented for.

Fast forward past the long commercial breaks (price of live tv), the lamer musical guests (Justin Bieber... really!?!?) , and any sketch staring Kenan Thomson. It makes a nice 30 minute show on a Sunday afternoon.

And yay for bigger boobies on Weekend Update. They need to get her in more low cut stuff.

I think Cecily Strong is great!  She'll do just fine in the anchor chair.

The skits she's done with Vanessa Bayer where they play the two drugged-out former porn actresses pitching perfume or champagne or whatever are hilarious.

Plus, she's the best-looking woman on the show since Tina fey.

I've been a big fan of the last several seasons of SNL.  Pretty much the whole cast has been batting it out of the park for a few years now, featured cast included.  That said, Cecily Strong is horribly, painfully unfunny--especially that one note "girl you meet at a party" character she does on Weekend Update.

Seth Meyers is funnier solo.  I love Amy Poehler, but she was never right for Weekend Update, and she made every other joke kinda' suck.  Cecily Strong isn't nearly Amy Poehler funny.

Also everyone thinks their generation was nothing but Led Zeppelin IV and Dark Side of the Moon, and conveniently omits Elvis Presley Aloha From Hawaii Via Satellite.     People just remember the greatest hits from previous SNL generations, they don't remember the flotsam and jetsam skits that dissipated into the ether.

i know this is studman69 territory, but tina fey never did it for me.  she's attractive to be sure but she's so vanilla.  not saying she's a pig, just saying she didn't do it for me.

this gal is super hot.  that chick that lasted 1-2 seasons, but left about a year ago, can't remember her name, she had a mideastern thing working, she was hot.  she ended up doing some kids' movie i saw.  some kind of animal / jungle movie, she was the lead jungle person or some shiat.  alvin and the chipmunks?

also that kinda chunky brunette from a  few years back.  that was  a lot of woman.  she only lasted on year i think.  man she was hot.  zaftig as hell.  give me that over bony ass vanilla tina fey any day!

In the Nashville episode of "Drunk History," she played Dolly Parton. Great casting.

/Apparently, the narrator's drunken rendition of "I Will Always Love You" was so terrible that their lawyers assured them they didn't need permission to air it--no one would ever mistake it for the actual song.
