She told officers she intended to use the test and then pay for the rest but had children with her, became frustrated and forgot to pay for the test.

A Battle Creek woman, 25, has been cheating.

She probably had to pee really bad, and thought "what the heck", I might as well test now. Cashiers hate scanning used pregnancy tests, if they don't have rubber gloves handy.

Well, those tests cost like $20, if she was pregnant, that's $20 that coming out of her future child's mouth you heartless bastards.

Don't think it's yours, just because you marked it with your urine!

Now I do realize this is shoplifting, but in a case like this, come on, ask the woman to pay for the test, only if she refuses then call the cops.

Somewhat off topic, but I saw a pregnancy test for sale in a dollar store yesterday.  Because when I think reliable medical diagnosis, I think dollar store.

/never mind what I was doing in a dollar store

When my sister-in-law was pregnant with their first kid, she showed the pregnancy test to my brother.  He picked up the box and said "This was on sale!  I want you to go back and buy the most expensive test they have."

Happens quite often. Usually when we bust them, its teenagers. The funny part is, they take the test to the bathroom (and by this time, we know something is up because they've been acting completely "non-suspicious" by the pregnancy tests. So then, while the test is processing, they walk around the store. In the meantime, we've found the discarded packaging in the bathroom trash and the cops are on their way over (because they are literally right across the street) and have arrested them when the phone alarm goes off to check the test results.

Idiots

There is a "red line" and Bashir Assad joke in there somewhere, but I don't feel like looking for it at the moment.

Funny, not sure about the dollar store brand, but recent experiences have lead me to understand that it is extremely unlikely to have a false positive on a pregnancy test due to the hormone they detect only being present when you are indeed pregnant.

You're correct. The tests are FAR more likely to give a false negative (failing to detect the hormone) than a false positive (detecting the hormone when it isn't actually present).
