Colossus Titan, the giant skinless one, will charge into the stadium and begin devouring the audience

Or maybe he'll just give the peace sign

Whatever it is, it will be obscured with pixelization.

A friend of mine did one of those "Teach English in a foreign country" jobs many years ago.  He chose Japan.   Apparently, you don't get to just pick wherever you want, you must have a genuine interest in the culture.  In an effort to BS the system, he learned a bunch of factoids about kabuki theater and claimed that was his reason for choosing Japan.  Out with another one of the people being interviewed the night before, the other guy mentioned that his real reason was that he was really into bukkake.  My friend being naive didn't know what this was, and the other guy was nice enough to explain.

He tells the story of him sweating bullets for the entire interview trying not to confuse the word "kabuki" with the word "bukkake."  He was successful, but still hates that other guy to this day.

Godzilla should light the torch, or the torch should be a giant Godzilla statue.

Lorelle: Hello Kitty. Seriously.

This is what I came here to say. I have no doubt that there will be Hello Kitty stuff involved at at least some point. Also, being the Summer Olympics, expect a lot of yukata (summer Kimonos) and fireworks.

Don't try and guess.
But there is sure to be some elements of WTF throughout...
The interesting part will be listening to the commentators trying to explain these one-off cultural references as they parade by.

I can guarantee you this: any majesty or spectacle or moments of art will be spoiled by the NBC announcers talking over it and making stupid, jungoistic comments, alternated with unnecessary audio descriptions of what everyone can already see, like it's the farking Rose Bowl parade

"this figure represents the Child of Light" still makes me get all stabby.

Japan's warrior history, starting with a reenactment of the battle of Ishigahara, complete with a viewing of the heads, and ending with a reenactment of Hiroshima.  No one who survives the opening ceremony will ever forget it.
