BTW the prayer the hand gesture goes with is called "The Priestly Blessing" which is the oldest known biblical text found, which dates from around 600 BCE. The translation of prayer is

May the Lord bless you and keep you.
May the Lord let His face shine upon you and be gracious to you.
May the Lord look kindly upon you and give you peace.

Now for all of you Civilization 4 addicts this should sound familiar because this is what Leonard Nimoy says when you discover the "Priesthood" tech in the game.

I peeked.
And when I saw the split-fingered gesture of these men... I was entranced. I learned to do it simply because it seemed so magical.

Does this mean the vulcan salute is actually the jewish sign for snatch?
