dryknife: It would great if the Beatles got back together.
BATMANATEE: I love the BBC Sessions albums. The Hendrix one is great.
NeoCortex42: BATMANATEE: I love the BBC Sessions albums. The Hendrix one is great.Love the Hendrix one. Also, the one for Led Zeppelin is excellent.
CWeinerWV: I don't care for Live at the BBC but the anthologies were awesome.
Mayor_of_Simpleton: Even though it was a long time ago, The Beatles changed popular culture in a lot of ways. They didn't just change popular music - they altered popular culture. Even Kings wanted to meet them, not just the King's daughters. Their music changed significantly in just a few short years and THEIR AUDIENCE DEVELOPED WITH THEM. Try that, NStink or Justin Poopypants. The Beatles had seven-minute-long songs on the radio; songs that start A Capella; they had the first use of feedback to start a pop song; first song with a string quartet on the radio, songs way beyond the old I-IV-V, and many many more innovations. They wrote their OWN SONGS, fer Kryssake. The Beatles did it all first. OK, so they don't rock like Metallica or something... so what? It's a long way from "Love Me Do" to "Eleanor Rigby", especially in a year or two. When you guys get a little older you'll be able to put things in a historical perspective. Popular music right before the Beatles was Pat Boone blandly ripping off RnB. It's not unreasonable to say the Beatles SAVED Pop Music. Now where can I buy that "20 minute recording of Ringo farting on a snare drum"?
MightyPez: I'm sure they could find a 20 minute recording of Ringo farting on a snare drum and these folks would buy it when it was released. Then again when it was re-released 3 times in the next 2 years.
E_Henry_Thripshaws_Disease: alternate Beatles takes are far more interesting than most groups 'hits'
Mayor_of_Simpleton: When you guys get a little older you'll be able to put things in a historical perspective.
Sgygus: How much more suck can we endure?
GibbyTheMole: Sgygus: How much more suck can we endure?Depends on how many more albums Miley Cyrus and Taylor Swift release.
smurfco: These aren't "outtakes", they're live in-studio performances broadcast by the BBC. The first set was awesome and I'm really looking forward to this one.
