crotchgrabber: Now... How does the "100%" rule work with the start and parkers?

Per what NASCAR said, if 100% of the team's effort is qualifying + 8 laps, then there it is.

Mike Helton looks particularly punchable today.

Can we discuss drivers we hope don't finish the chase?

1. Logano
2. Bowyer
3. Gordon

I want to see this come down to homestead with the 48 and 18 only separated by 3 points.... And the 88 with an outside shot to win it all if the 48 crashes into the 18 just because

Professor Farksworth: Do you think we'll get Rain Delay Clint today, or will he still be all Sad Panda?

He posted a pretty funny picture on Twitter of him and Kenseth in makeup to make them look 80 and they were sitting in scooters (presumably a dig at Smoke).  So yeah, I think he's gonna be okay.

PainfulItching: Bowyer is old school. He did what he was told by the guy who signs his paycheck. They just didn't get the code words right. This is not a new development.

Exactly.  You could tell he wasn't thrilled about having to follow orders to spin, and I feel bad for the guy for being vilified.

My picks to win it all... Matt Kenseth or someone named Busch.

Or, for the lulz, Gordon or Bowyer. With Johnson and Logano tied for 13th. And Truex Jr picking up a couple wins in the Chase races.

It's all about tire spin now?

Jensaarai: I'm ready to put it behind us. I'm just going to do my best to ignore the Chase and have fun watching the races/reading comments complaining about commercials like the good old days from all of 2 weeks ago.

But now you have to watch and comment 100% all the time or else Helton will pop thru your TV and dock you 50 votes for funniest comment. Further failure to watch the event in it's entirety will result in suspension from Fark.

(Hi, gang...I'll quit lurking now.)

Look for a dominant Toyota win today. The truck race had Busch toying with Keselowski Fords. The Nationwide race saw Kyle's Toyota so dominant he led 195 of 200 laps. That was best at a mile + length speedway since Dale Earnhardt led 194 of 200 laps 20 plus years ago. His car was in another league. It looked like it had 50 more horsepower than anyone elses. I figure that another Toyota today got "the call" to dominate and win because remember Mr. France always has the authority to do so.

I missed something

Do we actually have an ETA on the rain delay?

The blond on the left keeps saying "in just a little bit" and they are doing driver announcements now...

TV will never give an actual time. They want you to keep watching.

Good. The more the merrier. That goes for the other guy upthread who has been avoiding these. Rain delay races are always silly on fark.

I'm hoping for some incredible differences in points standings between the chase and what it would be without the chase. We need to have this thing completely obliterated.

Are you implying NASCAR might be favoring one manufacturer as a way to apologize for all the MWR fines and bad PR this week?

2013-09-15 01:46:41 PM
While it's nice that they let Gordon into the chase, it sets a horrible precedent that the NASCAR rulebook is written with invisible ink.

Next year, expect some team that barely misses the chase to whine loud enough to get themselves added again.

They just panned back and showed water all over the track and pit lane still

You would think they would have the jet dry truck and Juan Pablo out there by now...

Giggity.

As far as the chase goes, I want to see Harvick, Junior, or Newman win it. Also acceptable are Clint, Evil Opie, and Kenseth.

Damn, I never changed mine from last week and I still have Truex.  Either he will be so fired up to prove others wrong and do really well, or he will drive in circles aimlessly like someone who just got dumped by their girlfriend, just wants to get out of the house and winds up driving around listening to sad songs.

MRN saying the #1 of MacMary is having trouble getting through tech. The team is employing the "heat it and beat it" method to get it into alignment.

I think they'll wish they had the air titan, might not be a long enough window to dry the track and run the whole race before the next line of weather comes through.

At least there's lights, they can go all night if they have to.

He's overdue to stop sandbagging. Historically, most of my picks start well, yet end up in the 30th and under spots by the time it's all done.

Was Danica taken already?!

I do pick her off the C list for plate races. I can get more points off her and Mikey than the rest of that group than the rest of them (excluding running out of races to use Stenhouse)..

I'll say go Newman...and good luck with the rain (no rain in West Lafayette yet)

After this weather clears out, there is a small line behind it, then clear after. Should get it in today, maybe with a stop during the race.

I did that after Talladega and had Mikey as a not entered the next race. Kinda hurts your standings when you get nothing.

I'm really hoping Truex and Bowyer use this weeks shiatstorm as motivation. Kyle seem to revel in being disliked. They should take lessons from him.

NASCAR is in rain delay.

In other news, my quick flip to fox shows the Packers are blowing out the Redskins 24-0.

Somewhere Chick McGee is sobbing.
