Well, they don't, but certain individuals? Perhaps, and they typically only get caught if they're blatantly stupid about it.

This looks like the result of some kind of yiddish-english speech-to-text program.

It has at least three errors in it, which I would gladly edit if allowed.  But we don't do that on Fark.  It should read

What's this? A 'religious' person going against the supposed tenets of their 'religion' for fame and future success? Changing rules on the fly and ignoring the ones they don't like to line their pockets?

Gosh oh golly gee, I'm shocked.

Of course, every saturday he'd be playing anyway....

I know a cantor who is very devout and fairly strict about keeping kosher... Fridays, before sundown, he'll use  a paper clip to attach his college football tix to either a belt, or his inside jacket pocket.  This way, he can ask the ticket taker to please remove them - that way, he isn't doing business/handling "money"/etc on shabbot.

Indeed.... indeed...

Hmm.... maybe religion is just a social construct used to justify aspects of life and has nothing to do with Gods....

http://www.rantsports.com/ncaa-football/2013/09/14/iowa-hawkeyes-rb -ma rk-weisman-bulldozes-his-way-to-victory-over-iowa-state/

They just kept giving him the ball and he just kept piling up the tough yards. Iowa Hawkeyes running back Mark Weisman racked up 145 yards on 35 carries in Iowa's 27-21 victory over the Iowa State Cyclones on Saturday night. The Hawkeyes were simply dominant in the run game as Damon Bullock also chipped in with 50 yards, and they walked away with bragging rights in this in-state rivalry game.
