God Is My Co-Pirate: doglover: I dunno. Mr Teatime from The Hogfather isn't quite as evil in deed as many literary villains because it's a short book, but his motivations and general nastiness are crazy evil. He tried to kill their Santa Claus using children's stolen teeth, for fark's sake. With a longer lifespan or a more corporeal target for assassination and I believe he'd make Cersei Lannister look like a fine, upstanding gentlewoman.

Mr. Teatime is fantastically creepy but I think I'd give the prize to Carcer, as the Moriarty to Vimes' Holmes.

Vorbis and the Auditors are great villains too.

The Auditos are beyond evil. They just are. Creeeeeeeepy.

He wasn't pure evil, he was efficient to the point that everything became a pawn to him. I'd mark him down as Neutral Evil, because at the end of his life he actually FELT SORRY.

/WotC screwed the series up all but good.

GrahamManning: I love how he has time to hunt for gasoline, lead his gang, cruise around in his nitrous fueled, six-wheeled death mobile AND wail on his pecs and blast his bis and thighs out there in the wasteland

And these days he is a computer programmer according to imdb.

I realize there are over 600 posts in this here thread so it's no knock that you missed them, but Chiguhr is one of several McCarthy characters (most notably Judge Holden) to come up.  Hence my comments.

Shadowtag: Pat Robertson. Because his public persona, the one that says all that crazy shiat for attention, is meant to distract from all the money he's stealing.

But my first thoughts were Judge Doom and Scorpius.

Scorpius was not evil, he was the anti-hero. His actions were to stop the war from happening. And he was victorious in that. Rygel was evil.

He only closed the store for a wake and a 15 minute hockey game.

He ditched the one woman who liked blow jobs, made him lasagna and wanted a better life for him.

And wound up with Rosario Dawson so I'd say he didn't lose too much. Now that poor donkey!

Absolutely not.  He wasn't killing randomly or to be cruel.  He was killing because he was created a slave with a short timer to life.  He just wanted to live.  His was the fight for good.  The fight for freedom and the right to live.  He was fighting for what every person wants.

The evil one was his creators because slavery is the greatest evil in the history of mankind.

vrax: I'm throwing AM from "I Have No Mouth And I Must Scream" into the ring.

This. I'm pretty sure AM beats every other contender here hands down, except for maybe God.

Every other villain does evil in order to satisfy their fickle emotional urges. AM, on the other hand, does evil for... no good reason, really. Still, it does evil very, very effectively.

I like that Joffrey has been mentioned, but I honestly feel like Petyr Baelish is the real evil in that whole situation-- particularly when referring to the books. I haven't caught up in the series yet, but it's really starting to look like the whole situation was orchestrated by Littlefinger (with help from Lyssa). Countless people are dead, and Westeros will never be the same-- all because Littlefinger was butthurt over losing Catelyn Tully and her sister wanted to fark him instead. That right there is some cold revenge.

Darken Rahl is pretty up there on my list, too.

Nikolaos from the Anita Blake series, because creepy little girl.

James Moriarty and Patrick Bateman.

Sarah Newlin is up there, too.

Sauron and Iago.

The 465.

Joffrey is a rabid dog, nothing admirable in that. Baelish is the quintessential magnificent bastard - you have to admire, if only grudgingly, someone who plays the game so well.

That'd be the Angel Islington, then.

I didn't wish to post a spoiler.

That series is from 1996.  I guess I shouldn't tell you what happens to Dumbledore.

Dracula comes mind. Others mentioned descendants / spinoffs, but not Drac.

Other one is Fu Manchu. One pic of him showed up, but it was the Kurt Russel Kung Fu comedy Fu, not the original international drug lord criminal mastermind.

Also, SHE, by H.Rider Haggard. Evil, immortal queen.
