They say it's the root, and for about a century it's been a fiction.

"Love of" is the root of all evil.

in: Jason Vorhees, considering only the first movie.  Talk all you want about the literary merits of this or that title, I saw Friday the 13th when I was eight years old and it scared the living shiat out of me.

Since by completely random coincidence I happen to be posting this on Friday the 13th, I must be right.

Nope. Unless you meant, not considering the first movie.

unimpressed with fictional villains.  real life villains, hitler pol pot, john wayne gacy albert fish and you bring me that stephen king clown or the joker?

I guess this proves writers have a real hard time writing good villains.  heros are a dime a dozen but a good villain that's hard to do.

to be honest, I think I would nominate one of the guys from a video game.  Not like overtly dangerous guys like grand theft auto but one of those games where you go out and kill everything that exists for the experience points, never played bioshock infinite but I heard you do a lot of killing there too.

I was scrolling this thread thinking "nope...evil but not the MOST evil...Mannos, excellent...okay, come on guys we don't need to bring Breaking Bad into this too..."

I got to yours and I thought "we might have a winner!" (but only if you include all the stuff he did in the books.)

However, for my part, I'll humbly submit these guys:

Good call, but that's more of a conglomerate, or an essense.  My vote also lies in sci-fi, but first....

SOOOOOO many lame suggestions in this thread.  Psycho's like Hannibal Lecter, nazi's down to every day jerk-wads and sniveling bad guys(Vader even falls into this category, if you count the newer movies), or greedy businessmen, not much real evil.  Fark is populated largely by morons.

Where theirs was micro, yours was too macro.

Yaweh ... Literally created all evil and then played the "I didn't do it" card. Responsible for all human suffering. Came up with "sin". Invented hell. Set up and "outsmarted" Adam and Eve to trick them into sin. Changed his name Allah and just plain "God" depending on his audience. Sponsors wars against himself under different aliases. Truely the evil behind it all.
