Norman Arminger. The fictional history professor in SM Stirling's Change novels who decides to create his own medieval empire in Oregon when technology stops working. Complete with mass slavery, barbaric feudalism, torture chambers, and a crazy new Pope.

Aetre: 433: Aetre: "...Is it safe?"

How can I know if it's safe if I don't know what it is?

A dentist from the movie, Marathon Man.

Yes. YES! It's perfectly safe! People do it all the time!

/I know - these are Hoffman's lines.

I almost said that. I guess that old woman didn't teach him to fly after all.

my favorite book ... "I raped women, stole children, and burned houses, & shot men, run off horses, & killed cattle, and robbed who I pleased, all over your territory, and you never even got a good look at me until today! I don't reckon you would've killed me..."

serial_crusher: There is a character even more evil than anybody on this list.  Worse yet, he is real, and plagues us all with his evils even today.  His name, is Barack Hussein Obama.

/ I got nothing

Actually, in a way you're dead on. The most evil fictional character who ever lived is any politician as envisioned by their enemies.

/it's a tough life, living in this post-apocalyptic fascist police state that's jointly governed by World-Emperors-For-Life Bush and Obama. Stalin and Hitler were a couple of sweethearts compared to these monsters!
//oh great, they're at the door already.

Carry on. I was expecting a few more hits, but I guess we'll have to wait until someone decides to make the movie version.

DuudeStanky: Ellen Page's character in Hard Candy.

Yeah, she was supposed to be the protagonist, but jesus christ, that is a twisted character

Ronald Reagan. Now, I know what you're thinking... Ronald Reagan wasn't a fictional character. But he was in the Douglas Adams short story "Zaphod Plays It Safe" and that story made it clear he was one of the most dangerous beings in the universe.

Mugato: SmackLT: No votes for Pennywise?

That's because no one can understand WTF Pennywise is. At least I can't. Is he a clown, is he a spider, is he a turtle? Is he some being that can only be defeated if the girl lets all her friends run a  train on her? That was an effed up book.

The turtle is the good guy.  I think It is just supposed to be a force of evil.
