For +$300,000 you'd think they'd at least put flames on the side and a spoiler for you instead of making you pay extra.

Why do they keep naming their models after dead things?  Well, spirits of dead things?

Wraith, Ghost and so forth.

6.6 liter, twin-turbocharged V-12: 624 hp./590 ft. lb.

I am honestly amazed at the gas mileage they can get out of cars these days.

An 8-speed transmission definitely helps.  The 8th speed ration is .667.

Corvette ZR-1 trumps all that.

At highway speeds and engine loads, you don't need that much power to maintain speed, so many manufacturers do things like shut a cylinder bank off, plus you're likely to have final gear ratios set so your RPMs are fairly low.

The city rating is 13 mpg - a huge drop off, percentage-wise - but still not bad for that kind of displacement getting that much weight up to speed.

Why is every single picture taken from such a low angle. Now I know what it looks like to a squirrel you're passing by, but they couldn't take one single picture from a human point of view?

Oh yeah. I just look back at some of my old rides and its sad. I had a 85 Iroc Z28 305 TPI with all of 205hp and got about the same MPG...hell my 1996 Mazda gets about the same mileage with a v6. Even with all the modern variable valve timing, cruising ratios, etc it still is amazing to 20+ mpg from a 600+ hp 5200 lb car.

I'm surprised they didn't go with a continuously variable transmission for that thing. Maybe they can't handle that kind of torque. A CTV in that seems like it would make it accelerate as if by magic.

Of course then again this isn't my kind of car so I don't know how people would feel about that. I myself am a big fan of the downshift, and not when a GPS decides to do it.

Yeah, but when you hit a peasant with a Corvette, you have to look at them as they go over the car. With one of these they go under and you can have your lawyers say that you didn't see the poor wretch.

Also I want to see a pic of that headliner. Did this guy forget his camera on the road test, or did they not want him taking pictures of the chauffeur?

Seen it, decent movie.

Didn't bother to mention it because the name of the movie is the same as the name of the car, obvious connection.

I Like Bread: No thanks, I'm not buying a Chrysler 300.

I agree.  I expect the looks of the Rolls to have a certain style and class to it.  The new ones are devoid of it.

Same with the newest Jaguars.  I passed one today on the freeway and if it weren't for the obvious Jag logo on it, I would have bet money it was a Chrysler.

Agreed.  You can drive a Bentley, though.

So, a giant engine, and you can't feel the speed? Sounds 1. Pointless 2. Like I'm getting a whole lot of speeding tickets. Hell, even a cheap SUV these days will have you doing 85MPH without perceiving that you might be going too fast. Even if I could afford a car like this, there's no amount of money that's going to stop me from eventually getting my license revoked.

Subby you could of just said "It's like driving a Rolls Royce".   The crazy thing is your average roller will beat most low end sports cars whilst performing this minor miracle of engineering.

And usually it's the only car you'll ever need.
