a prison sentence for this monster would be a death sentence. and i'm kind of ok with that.

Not on this Earth? So not at all then? Since it's unlikely we'll build a Mars colony just to imprison him in. I can't think of any other means by which he might serve time, since this Earth is all there is for us now.

as an atheist, i don't believe in hell, but if he believes in hell, just the mere thought of it may torture him for the rest of his life, which is the best that i can hope for at this point. of course, he'll just probably ask his god's forgiveness and think that everything is fine and dandy.

why? He doesn't think he did anything wrong and thought he was bringing them closer to god. This guy is farked in the head and the judge is even more farked in the head.

While the claim of raping in order to make the victim sexually pure is novel, rapists having their sentences reduced to virtually nothing is not. Girouex's drastic sentence reduction follows closely behind the heels of the actions of a Montana judge, who sentenced a convicted rapist to serve just 30 days in jail, and made comments about how his 14-year-old victim was an active participant in the sexual relationship. The victim, a girl in this case, subsequently committed suicide, and the judge apologized for his remarks, but left the light sentence in place.

So what we have learned here, folks, is that the judge in Montana probably was doing the same thing.

I'm having a hard time trusting Christian Conservative men being alone with children.

but here's the thing. According to the rules of Christianity, all he has to do is repent his sins and accept Jesus into his life, for real this time, and he'll still get a free pass into the afterlife regardless.

The worst part is it didn't even work. The boys still love cock for some reason.

Go figure.

Depends on who you ask. There *are* still subsets of christianity who believe "Faith not acts" is a bullshiat distinction/a distinction without a difference. I know the (very, VERY liberal) church I grew up in argued that if you sincerely BELIEVED something was good and just, *YOU WOULD FRICKEN DO IT*.

No shiat.

My father in law AND his brother were molested by a Seventh Day Adventist minister decades ago that the church had shuffled around Roman Catholic style.   Like, they new this guy was a molester but trusted him with kids anyway.

//They settled out of court or are in process or something, I don't ask to much, he's a bit screwed up....

And my faith in humanity is lowered once again.

FlashHarry: a prison sentence for this monster would be a death sentence. and i'm kind of ok with that.

Agreed.  Sometimes prison justice is the only true justice.

Girouex, a married father of four, has had a fair share of backlash since he publicly made his disturbing practices known.

WHY WHATEVER FOR???

Where the hell are all the "Someone think of the children" people when you need them? He raped four underage boys and goes from 17 years to "Hey kids see you next Saturday, I got a PS3"?

Is it too late to sick Fred Phelps on him?  I mean, Phelps hates gays, right?  Maybe they could protest each other noisily?

Makes as much sense as the other gay "cures" out there.

2013-09-13 05:18:07 PM
This guy is horrifying. He admitted to it, he should be sentenced to jail.

2013-09-13 05:18:41 PM
both those judges need to be derobed...

and the priest needs to be punished by being buried up to his neck near a fire ant hill with a stream of honey going from the hill up to his face.  then stir up the ant hill... let the ants peel his face away over a few weeks.

2013-09-13 05:20:54 PM
So...to get rid of their gay urges, he had gay sex with them. That really does make a lot of sense. Why didn't anyone think of this sooner?

2013-09-13 05:21:00 PM
Yep. The pastor's got a little something on the judge. Maybe they "prayed" together.

Clerics. The whole point of having a clergy is that they are separate and "above" everyone else; closer to god. Recognizing their sins undermines that belief, and allowing them to be punished the same as anyone else undermines their status, and(as they tell themselves) that of the institutional church itself. Clericalism is a disgusting stain on humanity, aristocracy in all but name, and no one human being is "more holy" than the species as a whole.

Girouex, who is not longer a pastor at the Victory Fellowship Church, believed that he could rape away the gay by "praying while he had sexual contact" with the boys

Screaming "Oh God!!!" while you ejaculate into the person you are raping, isn't praying for them.

The judge in Montana wanted to adjust his sentence, but was denied by the Supreme Court there.

Nice work, Alternet/Daily Kos. Take an 18-month-old story and remove all context to stoke the outrage. The guy got probation and sexual offender counseling as part of a plea deal, so that the boys wouldn't have to testify. Probably because there was no corroborating evidence. The 17-year sentence is there as what he gets if he breaks probation; it wasn't "reduced."

According to the way most Christians I've known have looked at it, he had that get out of jail free card the day he received baptism.

What farking excuse does the judge have for letting this shiat stain off with out any real punishment?  Because he's a "man of god"?  Hell, for that reason alone he deserves double the normal prison sentence.

as a Montanan, the recent case you refer to is embarrassing...but, it looks like the sentence is going to be changed.  mandatory minimums call for two years...they are even now re-visiting and re-opening the case.  what a clusterfark.

No no no. That's sick. No one would really do that. So I still don't understand.

Do you have a visual aid?

Perhaps with a 14' cat for a good sense of scale?
