Yes.

But Bush.

As long as he knows 'Cuban Missile Crisis' has nothing to do with the Dallas Mavericks, we should be good

I fail to see the need for outrage here. It's not like he's joining the White House staff, he's going to work as an undersecretary for State.

Wait until one of them eventually clicks TFA and realizes he once went to go work on Bill Bradley's campaign.

I'm sure subby and the Moonie Times were simply scandalized when Fox News contributor Tony Snow was hired by President Bush. Personally, I liked the guy and thought he was pretty good at his job, but YMMV.

The Moonie Times telling me I should care about something is a pretty good indicator that I should not.

Yup. State is explicitly non-political. He's going to be heading up the Public Outreach and Public Diplomacy section of State- who better than the head of a media group for heading up your media outreach wing?

It's a good hire on Kerry's part, and will probably be a pretty interesting job for Stengel.

How dare people qualified for positions get those positions. OBAMA!!!

2013-09-13 02:17:56 PM
This is a scandal, because it is well known that presidential administrations often pay columnists to support their policies, and the Democrats should be ashamed that they were so blatantly caught doing something superficially similar.

Moonie Times? No Clicky
Remembers when Rev Sung Young Moon ran a cult that was pretty damn awful and got rich from it. But hey hes a Right wing Hero now with his Washington times! Murdoch, Limbaugh, Allies and Moon..wow what a combo as the figureheads of the Conservative Media movement.
( I dont mind Limbaugh so much. Unlike the bully coward Hannity, Rush will have a real honest debate with a real caller. Hannity cherry picks his calls so he can win and if not his tactic is to change the subject quickly. )

I love how the right wing media outlets keep trying to tout these stories whenever they arrive.  It's a way of covering the shameless back-and-forth graft and grifting their side constantly does, from think tanks to media to politicians and back.

Rush pretty much wrote the book on screening calls back in the late 80's, but people caught on to that after a while. Then he came up with the 'Caller Abortion' which was started to make him infamous, which is a kind of famous.

The ONE good thing I'll say about Moon was that he was very vocal about creating a right wing media machine when he bought UPI.

Poor Subby.  You are the only person who thinks the Washington Times is a real newspaper.

I'm sorry to be the one to tell you this, but we're all going to point and laugh at you now.

I think it's some sort of emergency ration toilet paper.

There sure used to be a lot of it, I think that the toilet paper supply only became reliable in the past decade.
